Petland is disgusting. Poorly took care of dogs who are constantly sick and get bought for thousands of dollars!! Then they refer you to a vet they have a contract with. Who tells you nothing is wrong with the dog and then for you to pay hundreds at another vet so it doesn't die. I was seriously considering purchasing a puppy until I saw the horrendous conditions. These dogs are ill and they won't disclose it or the medications they are on but swear they are fine. After leaving and reading other stories I researched puppy mills and what popped up? PETLAND! I am not feeding into these sadistic corporations. I am buying a puppy at a rescue (not a rescue broker). These people are terrible, lying, and rude in the store and hide nothing but evil behind there smiles. I recommend going to a rescue as well and put money into loving, compassionate people who will rescue these dogs for zero profit and guarantee prevents this horrible cycle!

So me and my family came to look for bunnies or something like that and of course since my little sister and brother absolutely love hamsters we went to look at the hamsters and to make a long story short, we found the hamsters eating it's own babies. When we asked the women who was working she didn't seem to care and told us "it's normal" and did nothing to help. I'm not much of an animal person but this was really hard to watch those poor things be tourtured and have the employees to nothing about it. I urge people not to shop here.

This place is terrible! I went there today with my cousins just see the bunnies and puppies and other animals. But, we saw something extremely sad! There was a hamster who had blood covered all over the butt and we even witnessed the hamsters attacking the poor little hamster! We told the employee and he just said that there was a bully and that he couldn't do anything about it! We played with the bunnies for a bit and then looked at the same hamster afterwards and saw that the blood reached all the way to his BACK!! Plus, the poor hamster couldn't use his other leg as well and he was scared for his life every time the hamsters came around him. Extremely disappointing that the employees really don't care about the safety of their animals! The puppies looked sad, too. Please just don't shop here!

TERRIBLE experience. I went to purchase a Yorkie and when asked I told him I didn’t want a credit card with them I would pay for the dog with cash or my personal credit card because my limit was high. At that moment they refused to give me the price of the dog and after asking 4-5 times I was told 4,600, once I told her she could keep the dog because that didn’t seem accurate  she then said 4,200. Her supervisor then came to me and said “I don’t know how much she quoted you but the dog is $5,000”. (This was of course after the lady shouted loudly that I didn’t want a credit card because I would be paying the total today) I asked why the price kept changing and she said “the dog is 9 weeks old but the lowest I can go Is $4500”. I told her I would call another store and inquire who told me the price was only $3900. I left immediately and had to drive 1hr to Chillicothe just to get my dog because she was trying to SCAM me out of an extra $1000. WILL NEVER RETURN

I am completely against the whole selling puppies part of Petland, but other than that it's a pretty good/affordable place to shop for your pet's. The reason I gave a 3/5 stars is because of the puppy situation as well as all the screeching kids running around terrorizing the animals... The policy is that anyone can pick up any of the animals, you don't have to be a certain age or know anything about animals in general to do so.. It's great if you have common sense but that seems more like a super power these days, also parents tend to let their kids do and go anywhere in the store. Needless to say everytime I go there I have a mini anxiety/anger attack lol They have good​ prices though and all employees seem to be ready to help. I would recommend this place for sure depending on what your needing.
