Very friendly staff. I showed up just at closing time and they welcomed me in and assured me it was no inconvenience. Also had a no-hassle return experience with a Christmas gift that was not going to be used by the recipient. Great selection of food, toys, etc. This store assists local pet charities. All cats in store are from the local humane society, and they frequently hold dog adoption events for the local shelter. They also solicit food donations for local shelters. I find their hours of operation convenient, which makes it easier to shop there, even if the location is a bit out of my way.

I have taken my pup to the Pet Smart groomers here in Rapid City for eight years now. Unfortunately, today will be my last time. They tried 'up selling' on an additional 15min of brushing so they could give her a better bath. That is beyond me. Also, she didn't listen to my one request of not touching my pups feet. She even said, "Yeah I see that in the notes" as she was looking at the computer. Yet, my pup came out with hair cut on her feet. This is a first for the Rapid City Pet Smart.

They do good grooming work but my dog acts completely different after I pick her up. SUPER timid and terrified after she’s done. She’s gone to groomers before and she’s completely fine during the whole process and happy afterwards. Wouldn’t recommend petsmart.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable but never have enough people working checkout and constantly have a long wait. Also hard to get someone to help with fish often.

Took my Great Dane to be groomed here a handful of times and each time the price increased more and more; even with coupons and “sometimes allowing” military discount, sometimes not. He is high energy and can be intimidating as he’s a big dog but being they’re “professionals” I figured they’d get him but it always seemed like they’d do rock, paper, scissors to groom him. He also seemed full of anxiety the more I took him. Between the inconsistent prices with no explanation or added services and the “oh it’s that dog” response; I can’t say I was impressed or would return.
