The Santa Train comes to life with elves and the story of Santa Claus and how he came to make Pikes Peak his Summer Home. When you come back from your Train ride. Santa and Mrs Claus are their to greet you with Hot Cocoa her yummy cookies and fun surprises. For a family tradition! This one is,a life time of memories.

what a great alternative to driving tim the top, so many more scenic views than driving, I have taken this railway to the top several times and would do it again. what a great way to see the wonderful mountains and valleys of this area. well worth the cost.

Relaxing? Not even close. It's like riding a loud diesel bus up a hill 6 miles an hour, for over an hour each way. but never slow enough to actually photograph anything. This with diesel soot pouring into the windows. People coughing, getting sick. Vibration from those engines an hour or more each way. Earplugs required. Views at the top too far for good photos. No plans to convert to electric, even with more torque and less cost. Lot employee says you "suck d!ck" if you complain and dare suggest electrification. Insists it's not powerful enough. Meanwhile everything else is converting. "Charm" would be original stream power. Even the ticket counter employees were coughing. But everybody is in denial. I'm the only one who ever complained they said.

If you like the mountains like I do then this is for you. My wife got a little sick feeling from the high altitude so be prepared for that. I lived in the mountains for long time so I dosent seem to bother me but I get a kick outta her whining about the low 02 and the curvy roads if you drive it. Oh and don't forget to bring your jacket like we did. It was 75degrees at the start but froze our cookies off up top
