The Pillar and Post is a landmark hotel in the heart of Niagara on the Lake. It combines modern amenities within a historic setting.

Story

Pillar and Post's original structure was built in the late 1890s as a canning factory, and since has been lovingly transformed into a fine Niagara on the Lake hotel. You can still see its original purpose in the clean lines of the brick walls and in the impressive post-and-beam construction.

The hotel has a relaxed elegance with sunshine streaming in through skylights, beautiful terra cotta tile floors, indoor and outdoor pools, and an exotic hot springs pool at 100 Fountain Spa, #1 spa in Canada (Spas of America 2011).

What an amazing experience!  I stayed two nights: first being part of their March Escape that included a free dinner and then attended a wedding.  

The meal at the Cannery was unbelievable!  Drank a Cosmo and enjoyed the mixed green salad with apricot vinaigrette.  The salmon was cooked perfectly and juicy and went well with the amazing mashed potatoes (best I've ever eaten!).  The chocolate caramel tart was to die for.  All around perfectly cooked.

All staff members were very helpful without being overly in your face; everyone seemed very happy and pleasant.

We enjoyed the hot springs, sauna, and pool, and then the Sunday brunch.

The wedding food - salad, gnocchi, and lemon mousse cheesecake - was the best food I've ever eaten at a wedding.

This was our second visit to the Pillar and Post. Our first time was for a spa visit and an overnight stay at Queen's Landing. We chose the Pillar and Post for it's relaxed rustic feel and the convenience of having the spa in the same building. One of my favourite things about this chain of vintage hotels is being able to use the amenities at any of the hotels if you are a guest. We felt very welcome as soon as we walked in, the staff were all courteous and helpful. We had dinner at the Cannery restaurant, it was so delicious! Very fresh and full of flavour. This is one of our favourite spots to get away for a relaxing experience, we will definitely return!

Very classy place, with a top level of service. No complaints whatsoever, everything was perfect. From the dining room, to the outdoor space, we enjoyed ourselves immensly. I would recommend this place to anyone! Prices are very reasonable for the quality of services! We did not try any of spa treatments.

I really liked my stay here. The hot tub was outside and surrounded by rocks and there was a beautiful water fall. The food here was REALLY good and the server's were really nice and always had a smile. The waffles and omelettes were made right in front of you. The pastries were amazing.

I would definitely recommend this place!!😋

The location was a lot busier than normal but we enjoyed our visit. We booked a massage and this included free access to the rest of the spa. There is a small gym for a quick workout before going into the sauna. There is an indoor hot tub and pool as well as an outdoor hot tub which you access from the inside. The bathroom also included a steam room. I would visit again.
