The old Parrot Jungle, how I miss it. Pinecrest Gardens is a beautiful place very tranquil and Luscious with plants and trees and Splash Zone for kids to frolic in the water, a wonderful place to go with the family on a picnic. They opened a little restaurant / Cafe at the entrance which may be a little pricey but a very nice place to go and eat a croissant with a cup of coffee. The view out of the windows open up to the beautiful gardens. Sometimes they have events in the old parrot Bowl and on Sunday mornings they have a wonderful farmers market in the parking lot. Attached pictures are from a February performance of the Greater Miami symphonic band. What a lovely show they put on. They perform there usually twice a year. It also backs up to the local library. A great local place to go and relax. Make sure you bring the bug spray during the summer months!

It was amazing, my favorite place in Miami, but then Irma arrived so not so good now.  They're working hard to to fix it up.  I gave it 5 stars because it was amazing and it will be amazing again. Did I mention admission is $5.00?   That's unheard of in Miami.

What a find!  The original site for Parrot Jungle, much of the original landscape from "the jungle" remains, providing a calm, tranquil setting.  They have a very nice coffee bar there, so take advantage of that before you walk around on the shaded trails.  Check out the wild life, too!  Turtles and koi fish can be easily spotted in the running streams.  On weekends, it's dog friendly!  Check out their weekly Farmer's Market held every Sunday year round.  (Parking is horrendous on property, so head out into the local neighborhood and park on street.)  Personally, I no longer buy veggies at the supermarket, I wait for weekends to buy what I need there.

This place is such a gem. They have a splash zone for the kids and also a petting zoo right next to the playground.  My daughter says this place is magical.  They have swans and peacocks walking about. Its the  perfect place for a wedding because the backdrop is so beautiful.

Great place for photographers. Lots of interesting nature to shoot. It's also a great place for shooting portraits. The farmers market is amazing.
