My sister and I came upon this restaurant more by accident while walking a few different squares, but I'm so glad we did! Dawn is a gem! She made my day so much brighter. I was feeling homesick and Dawn was so caring and attentive to both of us. She gave menu recommendations and showed genuine interest. The food was excellent! The entire place was very clean, and I liked the ambience inside. It was around noon, so very busy and the servers had their hands full the entire time. Note: It can feel tight rather quickly if you're sitting in the center row of tables near the front entrance. My only disappointment is that I did not have room for dessert! Would 10/10 recommend
I don’t usually write reviews, but I have to share this. Firstly, the service is amazing. They were so sweet to us from the moment we walked through the door, and the wait time was decent. And the FOOD!!! Absolutely delicious. We dropped by for a quick meal without worrying much about the quality, but it ended up being amazing. This is also such a cute place, I love the interior:
This is by far the absolute best pizza I've EVER had. Absolutely delicious. My wife and I remember going here seven years ago and they are just as amazing now as they were then. If it's in the evening you may want to set reservations because they fill up quick.
We had the fried calamari which was good but should have been cooked a little bit more. We also had pepperoni pizza the only problem was and it happens that there was a hair in the calamari but I didn't look at it that close that they said it was a mussel that it was from. On the other hand the pepperoni pizza was good in flavor quite expensive for what you got and we brought two pieces home and my son found a hair in the one of the slices. I doubt we would go back and if this is part of the ones from Warrendale and other places probably wouldn't do them as well
Came to Pittsburgh for a 2 night stay largely to watch the Penguins play the blue jackets and a little guys road trip. I did my homework in trying to find as close as you can to a great Italian pizza coming from Toronto it’s fairly easy to find however in Pittsburgh we were unsure. Upon entering this place, I was pleasantly surprised to see an Italian pizza oven. So I went ahead and order a margarita pizza which is truly the only way to gage how good a pizza is. Out of the pizza places I ate in during my stay this was by far the best however when comparing to some places in Toronto and in Italy, it still has a way to go. I appreciate the double zero flour as once you eat this you aren’t disgustingly full. The hostess and waitress were both attentive and helpful. If I found myself in Pittsburgh again and didn’t want a hole in the wall pizza, I would come back
We really enjoyed our experience. The waitress was awesome and she let us take our time. The food was really good. Ask for the homemade pasta. I really liked the Brussels sprouts.Food: 4/5
Tried this place at the end of April. The restaurant is lovely, the location is great, but I found the food average. The wood fired pizza disappointed because. the crust was too thick, I think. It didn't get the lovely crispy crust that you typically find in a wood-fire baked pizza. I wanted to try handmade pasta, as that was one of the things noted on their menu, only to find that not all the pastas are handmade. Disappointing. I found OUR server attentive, but I noticed a lot of the staff seemed to be gathered around the bar, rather than dealing with customers. It was off hours, we had an early dinner, but I never find it impressive to find the hostess, bartender and other servers hanging out at the bar.....
Small place with a great vibe and amazing food and drinks. Especially Landon's Thorogood Old fashioned was awesome with smokiness to it. The upstairs bar is the place to sit and enjoy. Drinks can get a bit expensive. But it's definitely worth a try.
I wasn't super impressed. My guest shared that this was their favorite Italian place in Pittsburgh and they're Italian, however it wasn't to write home about. Sauce was good, comparable to NY sauce but pasta wasn't just al dente, it was extremely al dente which made it hard to eat and I didn't finish it. Chicken parm was good by itself. Caesar salad was good but average. Calamari could've been crisper. It was good but not enough to add it to my "must return to" list for Pittsburgh.
Had a delicious little lunch here before we went off to a wedding that evening. Great atmosphere and all the pasta as made from scratch. I had the Lasagne and it was banging!!! My fiancé had one of the pizzas and it came out fresh and tasty. Would highly encourage you to take a break and go get a taste of Italy next time you are in the area!
