The owner is such a sweetheart. Took the time to talk to me about what I'd like to see in her store. Disregard the previous reviews as the new owner is going to change this place around. Great business etiquette. Even found a punk rock jacket I've been looking for all morning. Will shop here again for sure. Like I said... There is a new owner so expect change as I am expecting it as well. The owner actually cares about the customers and the services provided. Thanks again for the sick leather jacket!!!

** The owner has taken the time to reply to my review and has offered to give me a refund and has told me that in the future the employees will make their returns policy clear at checkout before customer purchases. They requested that I post my response to her email here so other reviewers can see that they are listening to customers' complaints and doing what they can to improve their business. Ann has been very understanding and helpful, and I expect the business will see great improvement under her ownership! Hi Ann, Thank you for getting back to me! I can come by tomorrow afternoon or on Saturday, whichever works best for you. I appreciate you doing this, I was just taken completely by surprise with this policy as I have never run into it at a Plato's Closet before. I have no problem with the policy, just that I was not informed of its existence and had I known, would have shopped more carefully. If I do shop at the store again, I will be glad to know about this policy as it will make me be more decisive before making a purchase. Thank you again for your quick reply and for giving me a refund, and good luck with your new business! Sincerely, Savannah Merritt I have never had a worse experience with Plato's Closet. I have never had trouble returning an item to any other store location and staff have been very understanding and helpful. Here, however, when I came to make a return, and only then, was I informed that they do not give money back on returns. No one told me this while I was in the store making my purchase, there were no signs in the store saying this. The cashier doing the return told me it says no money back returns on the receipt, so they waited until after I had made my purchase to notify me in small writing at the bottom of my receipt that I would not be able to make a return for money back or return shoes at all. This seems to me like a very shady business practice and I did not hear the cashiers telling any of the customers that they would not be able to make money back returns, though when I complained they informed me it is their policy to train their cashiers to say this. Well, if it is your policy and an employee forgot to follow through, then it should be your policy to give me my money back, because YOU have made the mistake. I will never be shopping here again.

Overpriced. The location in Winston-Salem is great, but this one falls short. Sneakers are particularly uncompetitive when it comes to pricing, most can be found online in better condition for cheaper. Only thing this place is decent for is jeans.

The one guy working was extremely nice and helpful, however the two girls at the counter we're far from it. Was around 6-7 pm on 9/11/17. I felt discriminated against for an unknown reason, but it may have been that the girl with the pink shirt, glasses and I believe a ponytail was simply that extremely stuck up. Both girls working the counters made it seem like someone was forcing them to work retail at gun point. Overhearing parts of punk shirt's conversations proved to me that she was at least a little stuck up and a bit of a jerk to everyone, but she treated me as if I was a problem for just being there. Not helpful in the slightest either. If I decide to go to Platos Closet, I will make a 30 minute drive to go to a different location (however I think i may have completely lost faith in Platos Closet) because of this experience. This also is not my first time with a poor experience at this location, with the same girl being very trougjesie.

New owners...bad buyers!!! Took BRAND NEW clothes and the didn't even go through them. We have been loyal customers for years, visiting this store almost once a week and now, I don't know if we will be back! Their men's section is ridiculous and have plenty of Walmart brand clothes but didn't buy our brand new NAME BRAND clothes!
