Overall it was a great place to camp. We stayed at site 6 (group camping) and everything was mowed and well maintained. The bathroom is a non flushing compost toilet, the door is super tricky and either wouldn't close all the way or jam shut... But it's primitive camping so all things considered it was nice. Great access to the river, good place for the kids and dog to play. We also had issues with LCRA police harassing us about where we parked, they questioned us and demanded a fishing license just for seeing grear in the back of our truck (we weren't fishing at the time). Will definitely camp here again.

Local river law enforcement profiled and harassed us while camping here - interrogated me about my tattoos - became really tense and freaked out when I put my hand in my pocket while we where talking - and assumed auto parts on my dash where drugs - awful experience - so disappointing and frustrating. Giving Texas a bad name.

Gorgeous scenery. Very well kept and clean. No electric hook ups which is no big deal if you want the real camping experience. The park is quiet and the park rangers were very friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend this place to all nature lovers and adventurers.
