Story

Pohick Bay is a water oriented park located on the Potomac River 25 miles south of the nation's capital. Our boat launch facility is one of only 3 public access points to the Potomac River in northern Virginia and the closest to Washington DC and its famous waterfront. Pohick Bay offers canoes, kayaks, paddle boats and jon boats for rent on the weekends as well as naturalist guided canoe & kayak tours.

In addition to water activities the park also offers family and group camping, hiking, picnic areas and a large play area for children. Pohick Bay is also home of Pirate's Cove Waterpark which provides water fun for the entire family.

Pohick Bay Regional Park, located on Mason Neck Pennisula is an ecologically fragile land that shelters an abundance of wildlife, including the bald eagle. Nature lovers can expect to see blue birds, osprey, heron, deer, beavers and rare sightings of river otters.

This is a great local park in NoVa and is pretty close to tourist interests in the area including DC and the battlefields. We stayed here for two weeks last year and two weeks this year during the late summer. The camping spaces are not paved and are not very level. That said, RV/camping spots are very shady and has a nice amount of space between. There are many trails through the woods, a path to the Bay, a marina, and a pool park. Sites are electric only or full hookups. The bath houses are older but very hot water with great pressure! I'm sure we'll camp here again next year.

I love this park for kayaking and have visited on numerous occasions. The park is conveniently located off of I-95 on the Lorton exit and offers easy kayaking on wide open water. A kayak ramp is available and going upstream is interesting with some eagles and many white egrets to enjoy

I gave this place 5 🌟 because they deserve it. The staff are very nice the place is clean and they care about it in the case of a spill (pop) by little kids.
My kids loves it and I do too. Please keep up the good work.

Inexpensive paddle boat, kayak, and canoe rentals on a nice section of the Potomac. Somewhat disappointing that they constrain where you can go to a fairly small area. Didn't get to play, but the mini-golf looked decent, and the disc golf course looked fun going through the forest. The pool/waterpark are the standard Nova-Parks fair - the pirate theme, slides, and in-water playground looked fun for the kids.

Lovely marina, playground, beach for fishing, hiking trails, camping, Pirates Cove water park and mini-golf, kayak and pedal boat rentals.... This place literally has everything! Small entrance fee for non-Fairfax County residents. Truly a great spot to spend the day or camp the weekend.
