Brett Payne is the best car guy in Marin hands down. The reason I buy one high end car after another from him is he really cares about his customers.
I wish I could say that about Ferrari of SF they suck. What ever you pay Brett it isn't enough.

I took my car in for an issue that required asking fir so.e goodwill from the factory as my car was out if warranty.  I was very eased with the service.  they were able to get me discounted parts.  much sporeciated.  Highly recommend Porsche of Marin.

I cannot really praise Brett Payne @ Sonnen/Marin Porsche too highly.

Too often when you interact with a Sales Guy, even a Porsche Sales guy, you look back on the experience wondering in what creative way they screwed you?

This is *not* the case with Brett, I have bought one 911 from him, and thanks to his honesty and diligence, I have just ordered another.

What distinguished Brett from other salesman? Firstly he loves the cars,
when Brett specifies car car for the show floor, you can expect that he
has not simply loaded it with expensive options, but he has ordered a
car that he, or another 911 aficionado would order.

Secondly, he's honest and professional; when you interact with him, you know that what he's telling you is fact, not fiction, spin, false news, or 
simply what you want to hear in order to get the sale!

I honestly did not think when I put my deposit on my new 911, that being #13 on the list I would get an allocation, but Brett assured me, that based
on past experiences, I would get one, and guess what, I did - he was right!

Brett is not your average car sales guy, he's not even your average Porsche brand ambassador, he's exemplary, he will continue to get my business and my highest recommendation possible... 

Brett (and Gary Wright in the service dept) are the reason that Sonnen get my highest recommendation, and continued business.

Its the only bay area dealership that I would recommend, never mind recommend without reservation!

I  bought a new 2017 Macan.  So far I like it, but there's already a recall.  Many cars have recalls,  but it's still not wonderful to have 1.  It was inconvenient  that I have to go back to activivate Porsche Connect.  It's difficult to make the time, so I'm doing without Porsche Connect until I can get back there.  Annoying.  The salesman, Andrew Proaps , was so nice & helpful.  No pressure.  Andrew took care of me & all my concerns.  If you can. Buy from him, I suggest you do so.  Tim Mattos was also top notch!  He was kind & relaxed.  Both men were calm & professional.  One other man, the one that reviewed my trade in, I forgot his name, was also amazing.  Relaxed, professional, & calm.  Snappy dresser.  He gave me a better trade in price than my old Marin RAB Penske Mercedes store down the road, & my trade in was from Penske!  Sonnen gave me a great trade in price for my mostly pristine Mercedes & gave me a discount on my new porsche!  Overall wonderful experience.  I went back for the recall fix.  They washed the car too.  Andrew & the porsche 800# guy set my car connect & porsche connect.   Very complex & difficult.  My porsche connect is still messed up.  They need to make the apps & computer stuff easier.

Porsche Marin, formerly known as Sonnen Porsche, is truly the best place to get your Porsche. The whole buying experience is critical to me -- I don't want to feel bad parting with my money, and one little misstep is all it takes to ruin the whole experience. After a few experiences with Porsche Marin, I can confidently say that I will not trust anyone else with my dreams.

Now, having said all of this, it's worth noting that Brett Payne is my Porsche guy. Period. He is a die hard enthusiast, just like me, and is not a sales guy -- he operates more like an agent, in that he facilitates my transaction, he never "sells" me anything (I walk in already sold on what I want). His sense on building cars is impeccable, as well. He's often steered me away from bad (options) choices, or towards good options to add -- I know a lot about a lot, but it's hard to truly know everything. Brett makes it all easy for me.

In terms of guys I've worked with or interacted with, there are many other top notch guys on the Sonnen team: Emil Rustamov (Finance Director), Bill Lamphere (General Manager), and Mr. Peter Sonnen himself. All are class acts.

I'm heavily biased in that I've had many positive experiences at Porsche Marin. Hopefully yours are equally positive, but obviously like anything else in life, your mileage may vary. Drop Brett a note (his email is on their staff page on their website) and have him help you with your dream -- just don't be an annoying client, please! Otherwise, I'll regret recommending him. ;)
