We did a last minute trip to the Potawatomi Inn as a small family get away and for our boys to enjoy the toboggan ride! We stayed in one of the cabins and enjoyed it but don't have high expectations for the cabins. They are very basic but was comfortable for a quick one night stay. The tobogganing was amazing and everyone was super helpful and friendly! We had an amazing time!

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary here. We stayed in one of the patio rooms with a breathtaking view of Lake James. The sauna, pool, and hot tub were clean and well maintained. We had breakfast at the inn's restaurant; great breakfast staples (biscuits and gravy, bacon, eggs, toast, and hash browns) and large portions. The several fireplaces and common rooms were cozy and relaxing. We will be back in the summer!

My family has been coming here for generations (our kids are the 4th generation). We have always come on Memorial Day weekend and have begun coming in winter every year over the past decade. This is a very unique family experience. Tobogganing in the winter and hiking, swimming, cooking out in the park in the summer. Kids enjoy the indoor pool at the inn and the family atmosphere. Lots of common areas at the inn for people to hang out in and outdoor activities in all seasons to enjoy. Nature center to visit. Game room for kids to play in. There's really not another place quite like it. Downsides are that the inn rooms and cabins aren't the cleanest and the restaurant food and service aren't top notch for the price. Additionally, while the common area furniture does get replaced every so often, it's sometimes quite used. Clearly, however, we keep coming back, and it's because of the experience. Would definitely recommend trying it out while keeping in mind that there are some less than desirable aspects to contend with. The tradition our family has built of coming here and the good times we always have are memorable and make this place a special one. Will continue to visit every year and have no doubt our kids will bring their own families one day as well.

Love the lodge atmosphere, rooms are tidy and well decorated, but the furniture is dated. New furniture in the fireplace room. Food is good but not great. Love the location inside a beautiful state park. Love hiking, park programs, sitting by the lake, crafting in the craft room, playing in the gaming room, and reading in the library. Everyone is nice on the staff!

Staying in a family cabin and the couches, chairs and tables are worn out. Very disappointed for the price paid. But nice to be away from all the people in the inn.
