This is a very unorganized office. We provided our insurance  information ahead of the appointment via a form emailed to us and in person in the day of the initial appointment. Saw a provider named Gayle Van Amburg. It turns out this provided does not accept our PHP insurance. I have been leaving messages for this provider and their billing office for months trying to fix this error on their part without any response. Will never use again

Psychiatrists are bad at their job, not asking their patients enough mental health questions or even listening to them/hear them out. Are not educated on pills. I was simply told to "exercise more" and was prescribed pills that made me puke, and was refused to be prescribed my needed dose of something I had been taking before switching over to this clinic. Very slow at their job. Horrible experience with Dr. Tokhie and was left hanging with no warning as he quit accepting me as a patient suddenly with no recommendations to other clinics, leaving me doctorless and without medication. Very much not recommended.

The psychiatrists and psychologists are AMAZING. I have never felt more comfortable discussing my "issues" with any other doctors. Dr. Pickens is the best for discussing medications-she makes sure you understand what you need, what the different medications do, the side effects, EVERYTHING. She does not just give you a medication and send you on your way. She takes the time to make sure you know what youre taking and why and that it is a safe dosage. Lisa Whitehead is an amazing therapist. She is so easy to talk to and helps work with you through problems instead of just listening the whole time. I am so happy I found this place.

The office staff is incompetent. I had an appointment scheduled months in advance with one of their providers, and on the day of the appointment they tell me the doctor has accepted a new position out of state. They claim that they left multiple messages, which I never received, and they say they informed my referring psychiatrist of the change a month ago. My current psychiatrist spoke with the staff last week and they admitted to having not told me this doctor was leaving. This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and incredibly frustrating. Avoid Psychiatric Associates.
