We were in town for a wedding that was also at the Publick House Inn and found the hotel to be a nice, cute place to stay. Our rooms were in the "motor lodge" part and those rooms are quite basic, but have all the usual room needs covered. The complimentary breakfast was quite nice. Good coffee, really good sweet rolls, and a couple other items. All the staff I interacted with were very pleasant. This place is its own cottage industry of wedding hosting as I think they had 4-5 over the weekend we were there. From that perspective, the wedding execution staff did a good job from what I saw so if you're planning a wedding, give this place a look.

Service was good and the rooms were cozy, the best part was easily the scenery and foliage. The bar has a really good selection of beers on tap and more than a couple are local. Also the bakery had some very delicious looking pastries.

We were married at the Publick House in 2014, and return for anniversary dinner ever year. Our wedding day was phenomenal- the staff paid attention to every detail and wish and made it all happen in a seamless manner. Their event staff is truly exceptional. We loved that there wedding packages were reasonably priced and a beautiful setting. When we return for our anniversary dinner the service in the restaurant never disappoints either. I find the waitstaff attentive and personable. We went last night and the waiter we had said he'd been there over 30 years, and the year before that we had a woman who said she'd been there for over 30 as well. Guess there is something to be said about a place that has retained several of the same waitstaff over all those years. Food was delicious and came out piping hot. I highly recommend the Publick House as both a wedding venue and Saturday date night.

We had our wedding here, and it was the best decision we could have made. The staff here did an extraordinary job making sure that we had absolutely everything we could need. Their wedding staff are all experienced and know exactly what questions to ask. The Publick House management is obviously doing something right, because everyone we dealt with was courteous, professional and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel special (even giving us free coffee at the bake shop 2 days after we got married). Alec and Danielle are exceptional, and we really appreciated how they kept their cool when we were frantic :-) Highly recommended!!

Initial sitting in the upper dining room was nice, but due to two large parties celebrating birthdays we were unable to hear conversation at our table. The staff was very nice and quickly reseated us in the lower restaurant, which was a much calmer environment. I had the stuffed trout, which was very good, though the variety of breads they brought was my favorite part (regular rolls, cornbread, pecan pastries). I would go again.
