Philadelphia's premiere park on the Delaware River Waterfront

Story

The beautiful Race Street Pier on the Delaware River Waterfront provides a place to relax and unwind. The park provides soaring views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the wide expanse of the river. Sit on the terraced promenade and watch runners and trains pass by overhead, listen to wildlife splash into the water, and gaze out as the barges float slowly past. The Pier is picnic-friendly and dog-friendly, with a spacious lawn and manicured plantings, providing a vegetated park suspended over the river.

On a nice warm morning, it's a great place for a stroll to get your day off on the right foot. I went for morning yoga on a weekend and I liked how the space can really accommodate for a group fitness activity. There is plenty of open space at the end of pier to lay our yoga mats. There is also a paved walking space lined with trees and ample seating for others who simply want to take a stroll through the pier. The landing juts out a little into the water, so you can spend a decent amount of time just enjoying the breeze and good company. There is mostly street parking in the area so the earlier you get there, the better. However, there are some surface lots and garages about a block away. Will definitely try to come back for more activities as the festival season starts up!

A fantastic view to the New Jersey staying in Pennsylvania and in the evening/night the sight is even better because of the light. There are police in the place so I felt safe staying even longer Really good place in Philly! No bar or restrooms or such, just the pier.

This is a neat little park on the Philadelphia Delaware River waterfront. It's a great place to bring your lunch, do yoga with friends or just take a load off for a while next to the water. Perfect rest stop for a bike ride.

A perfect place to cool off during hot summer days. The pier is located on Delaware River, so there is always cool breeze coming from the river. Bring your lunch for a quiet afternoon dining.
