So far, no complaints. The staff is friendly and they've some savvy approaches to cutting costs while respecting the environment. Good food's not hard to find here albeit a small selection. Definitely coming making this one of my "go-to" spots for grub.

If you're health-minded, this is better than Whole Foods! Lots of organic items. They have a very large selection of bins filled with your choice of teas, spices, herbs, beans, cereals, rice, nuts... They even have organic freshly made nut Butters, dry fruits, and coconut oil... huge selection of vitamins and minerals, healthy organic baked goods and even healthy toiletries and essential oils! You can get your groceries there. I could go on and on... it's a must check out Place! :-)

Bulk goods FTW - as in, probably the best aisle in SF: a WALL of amazing imported/local spices, herbs, and teas; honeys, nut butters, oils, pastas, granola+cereals, ravioli, olives, dried fruit. Also, bulk bath+kitchen products (soap, cleansers, detergents)! The cheese section is lit The beer is on point (and not too pricey) The bread is fresh/local The vitamin aisle is larger than some of the grocery! And obviously the produce is quality (though the organic and conscious sourcing leads to higher prices than most other markets, on par with say Whole Foods) Rainbow has some of the best buyers in the grocery industry.

Oh Rainbow. If only you also sold meat, then you would be the most amazing grocery store. With a commitment to selling high quality, animal friendly and equitable products, Rainbow is easily one of the best groceries I have ever been to. They have a diverse and thorough bulk department that can really be a godsend when you're looking for particular items. Produce is local mostly and always tasty. Tasty cheeses and ample housewares/natural medicine means there is something for everyone! It gets busy so be prepared!

Great vegetarian selections. Great organic selection. The cheese selection is amazing, and the people working the cheese counter are really helpful. The veggie protein (meat substitute) items here are great. And they have vegan desserts. And gluten free desserts. And a great herbal selection. And the bulk selection is good. Just come here and have a look yourself.
