My wife and I are relocating to Pittsburgh. In March we spent several thousand dollars on furniture from this R&F. We were clear that delivery would be in early May. We were told we would be called to finalize the delivery date in early-April. We received that call and confirmed with the staff that our furniture would be delivered on May 2nd.

I decided to triple check the delivery schedule today so called at 10:15. The rep told me that the Yonkers store confirmed that date with me but for some reason the logistics people just didn't get around to scheduling that date. I Informed her that I drove all the way to Pittsburgh from NYC (~900 miles round trip) so that I could be there for that scheduled delivery. I was told she would research it can call me back in "a few minutes".

I called back an hour later. Nothing had been done and I had to explain the situation to a second person. She confirmed that the store had the internal communications confirming May 2nd but that the ball had been dropped. I was told that I would receive a call back very soon from a manager.

I called back at 4PM, having received no call back. After pushing to speak to a manager R&F acknowledged that the problem was 100% theirs and offered me a lowball number for my inconvenience. By lowball I'm talking a quarter of just the shipping cost. The manager bumped that up but I explained to him that the mileage costs alone would be more than double what they were offering to fix what was entirely their company's fault. He told me he would get back to me.

Of course I had to call again. I was told it could take a couple of days to figure out what they would do to fix the problem. In the meantime my May 2nd delivery date was now meaningless and I was told that "you may get your furniture mid-May - maybe May 16th". That means another trip out to Pittsburgh before our official move in date at the end of this month.

I just hope that someone at R&F will realize that you can't drop the ball like this and just act like it's a non-issue that the customer just has to roll over and accept.
