My wife and I were really excited to try this place after moving to NB a few months ago. Our first impression was that the atmosphere seemed lively and fun, and that the decor was great. That was about it though. The service was pretty bad...We had to wave people down and ask for everything, every step of the way, rather than actually being waited on. The guests we were surrounded by were enough to ruin the experience too. It seemed like nothing but 40 years and up divorced and/or cheating people/groups who are the epitome of any bad stereotypes associated with the area. And the food was pretty average, but not bad. I'm not sure we'll be back...maybe we'll give happy hour a shot sometime soon, because we'd like to believe we just got unlucky with our first experience.

I was excited to eat a Rick Bayless restaurant, but was underwhelmed. Red O is located in the destination Fashion Island and boasts a swanky vibe. The service is really good. Portion sizes are generous and the food decent. I wish I could rave about the Fish Tacos, but they were bland. The rice was way over cooked and bland. The salsa and guacamole were bland.

This place is definitely worth the drive, wait, anything that may keep you from coming here. The food is exquisite, the service is nothing but classy, the atmosphere is warming, if I can I would come here once a week!

Good location.  Nice decor.  My recommendation for their lunch is street tacos (reasonable price!).  Their happy hour is good, too, but it gets crowded.  Get there early! :)
