Really not good. I've had much better similar food items from other locations around the city. This place is particularly disappointing, due the price being higher than average and portions being significantly smaller than average for some of the items. Tonight, I tried the Mac and cheese as well as the cornbread. The Mac and cheese was nothing like how it looks like in other reviews. It wasn't white cheddar, nor was it shells. I have no idea what they gave me, but it was not good. The portion is minuscule barley deeper than the size of my thumb. It was flavorless and extremely oily. Cheese tasted like Cheese Whiz, not cheddar. Some parts of the macaroni seemed not just soaked in oil, but also a bit hardened and burnt. Not good at all. The cornbread was okay, not good, and I've had much better. The portion size for it was at least somewhat reasonable although, it was decently more expensive than at other places, coming in at $5. It was crumbly and didn't have much flavor. Certainly not sweet and cakey like the description states. There were little kernels of darkened corn in it. Also not that great. All in all, I highly doubt that I'll come back here. Maybe the meat is amazing, but the sides were pretty bad. And usually, if a place can't get the basic sides mastered, the meat is probably not going to be great either. Small portions and expensive for not great flavors.
A legit BBQ spot! So hard to find good mustard BBQ outside of the South, but these guys nailed it. They have a sweet sauce as well for those that aren't fans of mustard that I'd like to try next time. Ribs were perfectly cooked and the portion is great. Will definitely be returning. Very friendly, personal experience. Stop in and say hello and give them a chance. You'll be hooked from the first bite!
This place is fantastic as a little Ma and Pop BBQ place. Becky and Randy are super friendly and inviting. I got the #2 which is 2 long bone ribs with the medium mustard based sauce and a side, Mac and Cheese. It was all mouth watering delicious. I had to fight the urge to go back and get more from their menu to try. I will be back soon. The only downside is that there is no sit down area to dine in but that is not a big deal at all.
Wow!!! Amazing. My friend is from Texas and they say the Ribs here are as good if not better than back home. Our favorite order is the “Journey”, Half Slab of Pork Ribs with cornbread and either collard greens or white cheddar Mac and Cheese. It’s nice to catch up with Becky and Randy when they’re getting our order ready, they’re so kind. Hidden gem! Go here!
I would have taken a picture but we ate it too fast. This is some of the best BBQ I’ve ever eaten in this city that didn’t come from our back yard. The slow smoke cook created ribs that just fell off the bone, and the rub on the wings was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had. But I judge BBQ joints by their sides- and the cornbread, Mac n cheese, and especially coleslaw were some of the best I’ve ever had. And don’t even get me started on the mustard sauce- it’s my favorite and they did it so right. Can’t wait to try the other sauces! This will be our new go-to BBQ place. Thanks for feeding us!
Just had RnB for the first time. Had it delivered and everything was hot. The packaging of the food and the note on the bag made it feel like a meal that was dropped off by my mom. Everything tasted homemade and was great. The sauce was one you will never get from a bottle. I do usually like a little more tangy sauce but this was still good. Just wish there was a slice of Sweet Potato Pie for dessert to order. Can’t wait to reorder and try the wings!
If you are looking for a great BBQ restaurant Ribs and Bread is a new option that is sure to please your taste buds. The first thing that I noticed was the friendly service from the time that you walk through the door into the small kitchen area. The mustard sauce on my ribs was delicious, I chose the medium sauce for that little extra mustard tinge. As far as the sides go, the collard greens were a great choice, it isn’t mixed with kale or anything else just the collard green which are seasoned and cooked to perfection. I also tried the Mac and cheese and it is creamy and satisfied my taste buds. This trip I also had an opportunity to try the cornbread and was pleasantly surprised, it is homemade and has real corn kernels baked right into the bread which is moist and flavorful. Thank you!
WONDERFULLY DELICIOUS BBQ! Couldn't get a picture because I ate it all too quickly. I got the 2Bone Pork Rib Meal with Collard Greens, Mac N Cheese and of course a side of CornBread. Pork Ribs: 10/10 the ribs were extremely tender and the BBQ sauce was the perfect combination of tangy and sweet. Collard Greens: 11/10 ...I've had a lot of Collard Greens in my life and these were by FAR the best. Mac N Cheese 10/10 CornBread: 11/10 the cornbread was warm when I ate it which made it 10X more delicious. Customer Service: 20/10 I placed an order to go and I was a little late picking it up but when I got there I was wonderfully surprised with a warm welcome from the owners. They were extremely friendly and wonderful to talk to. They even wrote me a thank you note on my to go bag which made my entire day! I am a happy customer and will definitely be returning when I'm in the mood for killer BBQ again!
We got ribs that were dry and had more bone and cartilage than meat. Mac n cheese was bland and maybe a measuring cup full in a small container tasted like maybe Bob Evans or stouffers. Cornbread was soggy, had a strange liquid smoke smell and taste and had brown soggy corn kernels throughout. 6 small breaded fried chicken wings. This was 36 dollars and after tip and everything was quite expensive for the amount of edible food. Showcase has better ribs and sauce I will stick with that while in the city. This place has decent house sauce
These are the best ribs our family has had in a long long time. Two racks and the meat fell off of every bone. One rack was red and the other mustard, asked for very hot and Randy delivered! The cornbread was on point, the macaroni and cheese tasted just like my bride’s - perfect, the three bean salad was amazing and the slaw was great. Randy & Becky are two of the nicest restaurant owners we’ve met in a long time. We’ll be definitely coming back when we’re here in PGH and spreading the word! Thank you both and those ribs were just as good for breakfast as when we got them for dinner last night! Thank you both for making our night yesterday and good luck to you both!
