Main Street Station

I have not used the train here but went to the Shop the Shed event and gallery opening. Very nice collection of higher end vendors/small businesses. The gallery is small but features some great art featuring the local area downtown. This is a really nice building and the Christmas decorations are amazing. If you want a nice meeting spot or just pop in when walking around town or taking a break from shopping or dining in the area, stop by. Also, the bathrooms are very nice and the station doubles as a visitor's center.

Spacious and elegant building comparable to many grand train stations in the US and Europe. It has been restored beautifully, which makes it a great venue for events. Which is all they care for these days because it's obvious it's where the money is. Train services have largely been ignored and passengers are treated horribly. During a recent trip, we had to wait at a makeshift area so they can dress up the main hall for an event. You could feel the contempt of the people working at the event because somehow, we're getting in their way. There were no announcements on the status of the train service (it was late as usual). The whole experience really reflected the dismal state of train travel in the US and why that's not changing anytime soon.

Beautiful building! So beautiful, in fact, that they were loading in a huge event that rented out the space when we arrived to catch our Amtrak train to NYC. Train passengers were definitely made to feel like they were “in the way” of the event. I mean, it’s primarily a train station, right?

The renovations are beautiful. There is a visitors station downstairs and a lounge and cafe area. We had a lovely lunch! Also a venue for events.

Attended the Craft+Design show in the new train shed event space - it's all-around stunning, visually and architecturally.
