My first experience with Riddle's began when browsing their collection, and ended with conversation with a young woman jeweler while waiting for the bus. She was very kind and talkative when I told her I also made Jewelry. Solid first impression. Months down the road a couple of friends of mine were sold a "platinaire" (92.5% silver, 5% platinum 3.5% "patented alloy") very cloudy (low end) diamond wedding ring as platinum for around $200 at JCpennys. As an amateur jeweler myself, I knew something was fishy for the price. After looking at the stamping inside the ring band, and looking up what platinaire actually is, I informed my friends and they promptly went to return it. After the return, they went to riddle's, they genuinely felt bad, stayed open for them, and did as an honest jewelry store would to try and find them a quality ring within their budget. Not only are the employees hardworking, honest, and professional, they also have proper experience in their field. The jewelery and repair work is made/done there in house, and the jewelers are skilled. They were kind enough to give them a discount based on their situation and promise the ring sized by the next day (being rhodium plated white gold, that's pretty quick and considerate of them to do so). Upon picking it up, everything was done correctly. Stones were re-tightened, no solder seam, and plating was consistent throughout - not to mention sized accurately. I personally think that the staff there are some of the best that any jewelry store that Emporia has to offer. It doesn't take lies to sell something if you care about more than a sale. Many big superstores and even many jewelry chains do not require their salespeople to know the first thing about gemstones, metals, or basic jewelry knowledge. This can end up making reputable companies lose business because they're mistakenely viewed as overpriced or manipulative. You will not be lied to here, you will not be suckered in to buying a piece of junk, and if your jewelry needs repair work, you will be treated with compassion and honesty, and have your precious metals and gems handled by a trained and skilled jeweler. Do not hesitate to buy from, or have repair work done by this store. I'd disregard the previous review about the person frustrated that they didn't work with watches. Not all jewelery stores do, and that shouldn't affect their ranking as a reliable company.

They are located within the mall, directly across from JCPenny's. Easiest and shortest way to the store is entering the mall from the west side. I didn't go here looking for jewelry but was referred here to have my watch band resized. Unfortunately they were unable to do it, which I was really surprised considering they are a jewelry store. I ended up purchasing a cheap watch band removal kit and was able to get the band resized myself. I can't comment on the jewelry but the staff were really nice and the location is easy to find. Since they weren't able to help me with my issue the best I can give them is a honest 2 stars for effort and pleasant communication.
