Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is a world-class facility that is as much fun for locals as it is for tourists. There's plenty for a family to do for many hours. Animals are typically quite active and several exhibits offer interactions. The gardens are beautiful year round and splash area for the children are absolutely beautiful. The zoo staff goes to Great Lengths to provide excellent service and I've never encountered any customer service issues there. I highly recommend the ropes course and zip line tour. Both are a blast! Children can enjoy most of the ropes course but depending on their age and height may need an adult to be with them. My children also love playing on the playground and usually ask to do the rock wall and carousel. If visiting from out-of-town it is probably best to get children a wrist band so that they can enjoy all of the activities. The food in the main cafe is good and honestly quite reasonably priced. Riverbanks is a must see if you are visiting the area!

The Riverbanks Zoo is a great place to visit any day! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The environment is safe and clean. Most of the exhibits are functioning. Signs are clearly posted for areas under construction. It's a fun outing for groups or individuals. I highly recommend visiting this zoo. I always enjoy the experience!

The facilities here are so well maintained!  The animal habitats are clean and spacious, and the atmosphere of the zoo makes you feel like your on an African safari.  In the summer, I love to cool down in the aquarium or sea lion exhibit.  Get the annual pass so you don't feel pressured to experience the whole park in one visit.  The splash pad and playground are great for kids!

We visited on a Monday in February. Perfect weather, all of the animals were available to view, and we saw more employees than visitors. I usually shy away from anywhere with large crowds so this was the perfect time to visit for us. The zoo is mapped out in a circle that's let's you see every exhibit without backtracking. The ground is all level for very easy walking. We will definitely be visiting again, especially to see the botanical gardens!

Our family loves The Riverbanks Zoo! This is one of the best places to visit in South Carolina. Maybe equivalent to the Lady Liberty in New York. We keep a membership here and will most likely have one every year to come. They are constantly adding to and making improvements. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about this zoo! 5 STARS!!!!!!!
