Riverhorse on Main is among an elite list of top restaurants in the nation and is one of the oldest and most distinguished restaurants in Park City.

Story

Since its opening on New Year’s Eve, 1987, The Riverhorse has been highly regarded by both restaurant critics and the dining public. In 1995, the Riverhorse became the first restaurant in Utah to receive the DiRōNA Award. This very prestigious honor, dedicated to “excellence in dining,” was bestowed that year on only 223 restaurants inl of North America. The Riverhorse has maintained this distinguished honor each year since, including 2012.

On January 16th, 2000 the Riverhorse received the ultimate honor in the hospitality industry, when it was again selected in 2012 for this by the Mobil Travel Guide as one of the top 108 restaurants in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Riverhorse is the first restaurant in Utah to ever receive this highly coveted award and the only restaurant in the state to ever be honored with both the DiRōNA Award and the Mobil Four Star Award.

The Mobil 4 Star Recognition evolved into the Forbes 4 Star Recognition in 2010. Nevertheless; the Riverhorse on Main was again selected for this prestigious recognition in the world wide restaurant industry. The Riverhorse continues to pave the way as a pioneer for excellence in fine dining and outstanding service in the state of Utah.

Great location to dine close to the scenic mountains in Park City, Utah. Reservations are a must if you are going for dinner. Very friendly staff and great service. Appetizers and main course meals are great. Good place to enjoy steak and bison meat for foodies. Love their sea food entries and desserts. Must visit place if you are in the area. Make sure you are dressed up appropriately for the season. Heating is not at par in winters. Overall a good dinning experience. Just a word of caution; it is one of those places that is on the higher end just like any other popular tourist spot.

If you like stuffy restaurants with snooty staff, this is the place for you. We made reservations for two weeks in advance and they stuck us off next to a wall where we had a view of another wall and had heavy traffic buzzing past our table all night. It was 5 pm and the restaurant was empty. When I asked to move us they let us know that there was only one other option and it was in a similar spot. Food was good, but I travel the world and expect better for these prices. 
The waitress asked how I’d like my pork chop and I said medium, it came out medium-well to well-done. Why do you ask if the chef is unable to get it right?  
My date’s steak was over cooked. The appetizer of scallops and risotto was excellent. Absolutely perfect, and it came out hot and fresh. The bread was dry and crusty where there wasn’t a crust. 
The waitress was curt and the hostess was snooty. The staff that brought the plates out and refilled water were fabulous. 
All-in-all, I expect a lot more from a place with ratings like this.

While visiting Park City with friends, they made reservations here because we all love a good steak and they'd dined there before. Riverhorse on Main went above and beyond our expectations.  The steak was out of this world, spinach and mass potatoes excellent, and the service from hostess Claire was the best!!! The live music was great. The owner stopped by to check on us and added the finishing touch to an unforgettable experience!! I'm longing for their food and hospitality right now... A big thank you from us to everyone at Riverhorse on Main!!

Working gig. Set up for a private party. Like stuffing 10 pounds of gear in a 5 pound bag. Reasonably organized, and result was visually very good. Hope the attendees had a good time.

Best in P.C.  Went here for our anniversary.   I got the New York steak medium, it was amazing.    Thick cut, slightly charred on the outside,  pink to light red inside,  and so much flavor.   My wife had the beef fillet,  also incredible.  Great attentive, friendly service.  Our server was constantly in the background filling drinks and removing plates and barely even being noticed,  but he still was there instantly for any requests.  One of, if not the best in Utah.
