I was a previous patient at Smile Design and Dentistry in Spring Hill. Espino was my dentist at the location. The moment he walked in the room his arrogance was glowing through, as he sat there and told me that everything wrong with my mouth was all of my problem. As he drew up my dental plan he told me I had 4 cavities and needed a cap on my back molar as it was cracking. Total cost was about $1200 for all the work he "said" I needed done. Not having all the money at once I decided to break it up, starting with the one 'cavity' he needed to fill, which laid in-between my front teeth. At that particular appointment as he was filling my tooth, he sat there with the hygienist ranting and raving how good he was, how he would win at a dentist reality show for putting in fillings the fastest. (arrogance) At my next appointment a few months later, there is a new dentist and Derek is gone. Got a cleaning, the new doctor came in.... and what do you know........NO CAVITIES NO CAP NEEDED.....how did that happen? I didn't know cavities and cracks disappeared, or how about this THEY WERE NEVER THERE TO BEGIN WITH. I must say what poor practice and what a great way to make some money!!! THEY DO SAY A 2ND OPINION IS A MUST and after my experience with this untrustworthy man, that statement is very true. SO PLEASE AFTER SEEING DEREK GET A 2ND OPINION!

I have found my experiences at Dr. Espino's office, Riverview Dental Arts, to be exceptional. The staff is friendly as is Dr. Espino. During the exam, his communication was appreciated. He explained what he was doing and why, then showed pictures of the areas that needed attention. The treatment was painless and very reasonable. Dental technology has come a long way! I was seen on time on both visits. Today, I came in a week early by mistake. The staff accommodated me happily anyway, even though I offered to come back at my scheduled time. I really like this dentist office.

I've been going to this office for 10 years and the recent change to Dr. Espino has been impressive. I was very pleased with the staff and the responsiveness from Dr. Espino to the minor, but additional work that I needed. Also, he uses modern technology and the first time I experienced a laser process to resolve a filling. No shots, numbing or discomfort!

The office setting is very warm and welcoming. The staff is friendly and attentive. Dr Espino is very detailed about the treatments and ensures that all questions are answered before leaving room and his quality of work is very good.

UPDATE: shortly after my review the dentist located my information and reached out to me. He was very upset about the situation and explained that this was a miscommunication that he was going to take care of. While they do see emergencies at 3, they do accomodat3 their patients if they can only arrive at that time. He asked to rectify the situation so I scheduled an appointment a couple weeks out. The hygienist was very friendly and explained everything she was doing. When I saw the dentist he was very nice and professional. I explained my past dental issues and what the treatment plan was and upon looking at my xrays he agreed to the course of treatment. This made me pretty happy. He also answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. Very disappointed with my short-lived experience with this business. I made an appointment last week. I believe it was a Thursday for today (Monday) for 3:00. This was the latest they could see me and I arranged it to where I could leave work 20 minutes early to arrive on time. I just received a phone call asking to come in at 2 because they only see emergencies at that time. Very unprofessional. Since this was a mistake on their end, they should have just allowed the appointment and explained to that employee the rule, not put pressure on the patient. I said I can't just tell my boss "hey, my new dental office screwed up I have to actually leave an hour early, ok." Patients have jobs and responsibilities too. I guess this was a blessing in disguise.
