This store is amazing! The staff is helpful and very knowledgeable. Specifically, Derek was fantastic! He is the definition of professional. He is pleasant and I really appreciated his assistance and attention to making sure I got the best service, and the best shoes. I highly recommend Road Runner Sports if you have some time, and if you are ready to listen to good advice, and then to buy good quality wonderful shoes! So excited to use them. Thank you so much!

Took a few tries to find the right shoe for me, but after two visits to Road Runner Sports and a third visit to another, smaller, independent running store, I finally figured it out.  Road Runner Sports staff was very nice.  Just be aware that they will offer $70 custom insoles that sound like a great idea while you're there, but you may or may not need these in the long run, most likely not.

I came here at the recommendation of a friend, and did the treadmill test. They made me custom arches on the spot, like some of the previous reviews mentioned. They didn't force me to buy them but basically convinced me that they're better than all other arches. The staff were friendly and helpful in finding sneakers to try on. Honestly, I have a hard time making decisions and it was late at night already and I probably shouldn't have bought anything if I wasn't 100% sure, but all over the store they have signs advertising their "90 day guarantee" so I figured why not. You get to checkout and they convince you to buy the yearly membership (I also asked that they turn off the automatic renewal which they didn't do) so I got a discount on the shoes but they were still pretty expensive. You have to buy the membership if you want to bring the shoes back within 90 days but what I didn't realize was that you can't get a refund, you only get store credit. I just wanted to be done with the store so I bought a pair of shoes online since I didn't have time to go back to the store and I was leaving on a trip. I had to pay shipping. The shoes came, in my size, and they were huge! So I had to return them, pay for return shipping! By this time it's eating into my store credit so from $120 I'm down to $98 and you know that won't buy me a decent pair of shoes since they're so expensive. I would just give the credit away and call it a day. This was overall not a good experience, and I'm sorry I ever walked in there. Just buy sneakers at DSW or any other store for that matter.

I've visited the store a few times before but never bought anything. Today I went to buy a pair of running shoes for my wife's birthday and the customer service was excellent. The lady that helped my wife was very intuitive and even though it was busy, she gave a lot of time to help my wife with a comfortable pair of shoes. We don't buy shoes a lot particularly running shoes. I would say we buy every 3-5 years and the shoes we get rarely go over $100 but this was a special occasion, so after the rep asked us about the VIP membership, I declined and she was cool about it. I'd give her 5 stars. Now my only problem was at the check out counter. I'm giving 2 stars because this really ruined the whole experience and I won't be coming again. The lady at the counter rang us up for $150 and I just wanted to pay and leave but she brings up the VIP membership. I told her that I declined it with the customer service rep earlier, but she went into the benefits of it again. First off, I told her it won't be beneficial since I'll save initially but I'll be paying $27 annually which is a waste since I don't buy shoes regularly or any other gear. She keeps insisting and I felt pressured but declined again. What was the most annoying was after I finally asked just to pay for the shoes, it was like her character switched from excited to cold. It really put me off. I mean I'm paying for an expensive pair and I don't buy these things regularly. It's for a special occasion, and that's how I'm treated in the end with a cold thank you. Such a turn off, no need to come again.

Beware of agreeing to the VIP Family Packet, which will automatically charge your credit card account every year a $27.99 fee.  We went to this store one time (and paid a fortune for shoes and inserts that ended up not fitting well) and one year later found this charge on our credit card which I had never agreed to because I don't ever accept those kind of deals.  Although the company did take the charge off immediately when I called them and they apologized for there being a disconnect in communications with the salesperson, we all know that most people don't meticulously check their credit card charges and can easily being paying for something without knowing that they are being charged.
