Amazing dinner tonight! Quickly seated, great service, amazing appetizers and entrees. Kids loved the fettuccine and tortellini. I had the sea bass which melt in your mouth and had so much flavor. My husband had the rigatoni with huge pieces of crab claws and shrimp. Everyone left very full and so happy! We will definitely be coming back! The owner was so nice and personable. Must visit if in St. Louis. You will not be disappointed!
Best Italian-Seafood in St Louis! Roberto brought his family recipes from Taranto, Italy where he fished the seas for a living. Amazing food and stories!
My family and I enjoyed our son's 22nd birthday dinner at Roberto's last night. We arrived promptly at 430 pm, our reservation time, and we were warmly welcomed by all. This dinning experience was very elegant, warm, friendly with cozy family feeling throughout our stay. Since it was our very first visit, we asked questions about the menu items so we could pick our entrees. Our waiter and assistants were very attentive throughout the meal. Our food was promptly brought out when ready piping hot smelling of the best Italian flavors. We loved our meals: chicken parmesan, scallops with spinach was divine, mouth watering tortellini with peas and mushrooms so good, and oh yes the toasted ravioli appetizer was also very delicious. I choose the house dressing and I wished I picked something else as the flavor, for me, wasn't pleasing my taste palette. I'm very adventurous trying new things and every once in awhile I get it wrong. We can't wait to come back to try something different and soak up more finely prepared pasta dishes. The attention to detail was felt in every delicious pasta bite. Mr. Zanti and all staff, thank you for a very lovely evening we will always fondly remember. We felt like we were in Italy with all the perfect ambience of what it must be like to eat at a truly amazing Italian restaurant far away in our own lovely hometown of St. Louis MO. Mr. Zanti, I've read a lot of your replies to customers. I admirer your high quality standards not compromising price for quality food. We tasted your loving care and attention to detail throughout the whole meal. I love how you defend and honor your restaurants by not cowering to terrible unflattering remarks by standing up to bullies. We will recommend your restaurant to friends and family for their next special diner out on the town. Thanks to all!
We came here last night to celebrate my birthday. When my husband made the reservation he also mentioned that. When we were seated, the gentleman who was filling water came over right away. To be honest, the guys coming around filling water glasses and bringing the bread were the best part of our experience. They were kind, courteous and friendly. When our server got to our table, that was a different story. Our server did not so much as give a greeting or anything. He came up to the table and just said "What are you drinking?" And that was it. No greeting, no introducing himself. I have no idea what his name even was. Once we got our drinks he just ask, "what are you having?" We had to ask what the specials were that evening, it was not something that we would have been told unless we asked. I had the lobster bisque, which was just ok. I also had a piece of lobster shell in my soup which wasn't pleasant. There was very little lobster in the bowl. It certainly wasn't worth $14. My husband and I both had the filet porcini. The filet was good, the sauce was ok - didn't taste like a 'fine dining' type of dish. We both had the pasta with garlic and oil for the side. The garlic tasted like it was raw it was so strong. Throughout the meal I felt like our table was a bother to our server because we weren't one of his regular tables. He was chit chatting with his other tables, but barely spoke with us at all. When it came to dessert, my husband mentioned that it was my birthday. I said I was too full to have anything there, but I asked for a piece of tirimisu to go. He then asked if I'd like complimentary gelato for my birthday. I got amaretto and my husband got chocolate. The amaretto gelato was fantastic! I was sad I was so full and could only have a few bites. The gelato was my favorite part of my meal. My photos I've attached were of the tirimisu. It was an extremely small piece for it being $9. It was good, but way over priced. My husband and I had dined at Roberto's a few years ago for my husband's birthday and we had a fantastic experience. We had high hopes to celebrate my birthday, but ended up having such a disappointing night. Everything was overpriced and the service was subpar, and the food was nothing special. After this experience, I doubt we will take the gamble on spending that much money to possibly have another bad experience.
Our dinner was perfect, and my elderly mom was so happy with everything she is picky. Excellent customer service!
Had a 5pm reservation was greeted and seated immediately place looked great my wife and I was celebrating my wife's birthday. Service was great we started with the appetizer special which was stuffed shrimp. theme seafood and pasta dishes we ordered was wonderful. My wife is from Boston and normally we don't order seafood outside of the coast but I must say we were both impressed with the entrees. Then for dessert we had tiramisu and a chocolate cheesecake we were very happy with our whole dining experience I would definitely recommend this place I'm sorry for those that had bad experiences here if they really did but our experience was nothing but joy this place is top-notch in our eyes. Plus Robbie our server did a great job and so did all of the people that was doing our water and taking our plates. Parking: Large parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: Flat entry no steps
Well, that was an experience. First off was surprised to find it was in a strip mall which is fine. Some of my favorite establishments are rough looking from the outside. I wanted to give my wife a lovely night out and some good food. It was not a good start. I have never seen such a pretentious group of employees in my life. Just know, you will be judged the second you walk in and if they deem you not up to their standards the Owner will make that very evident. Now to make this clear my wife and I were well dressed for nice casual night out. We witnessed this happen to two other couples/family's while we had dinner. The food was oK. What you would expect for Italian food in a old shopping plaza. Unfortunately the staff made it to where we would never return again. I strongly suggest find a nice place on the Hill to have an amazing meal.
I visited Roberto’s Trattoria last night because I had seen a commercial on a local tv station. It was in an area I grew up, so a friend and I took the drive from St. Charles Co. We were NOT disappointed! We were greeted with a warm and welcoming staff and atmosphere. Our server, Jamie was awesome and our dinners were delicious! It was such a great menu with many specials, it was difficult to choose from. We experienced the salads, entrees, desserts and drinks. I will be back!! The drive was worth it to enjoy this incredible So County STL venue!
We love this restaurant! The owner and staff are very professional while offering beautiful food and great service. We keep coming back for … everything! They have a very nice wine list too and great old fashions.
We were there last night. Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Complements to the pastry chef. That is what tiramisu should taste like. Also, pasta was to die for. We are a loud group even without alcohol, but it did not seem to bother anyone. We were cracking up jokes, even Mr Roberto came out to say hello to us. Thank you for the delicious Lemoncello you treated us with. Sorry, I couldn't find anything wrong to write bad review . We hope to see you again soon.
