Rockland Cemetery, located in the Town of Orangetown, was organized in 1847 by Eleazar Lord, author, educator and first president of the Erie Railroad. As a non-sectarian cemetery, Rockland cemetery is open for burials of all races, religions and walks of life. The Cemetery is the final resting place of many local residents. It is a place to celebrate the lives of those people, each with a story of there own.

We have an extremely dedicated team of local residents who make up the of the Board of Directors of Rockland Cemetery. Their dedicated leadership and business acumen have placed the cemetery in an enviable position of financial soundness and care.
Our Staff
We are very fortunate to have truly dedicated staff of employees that takes pride in maintaining our grounds to the highest possible standards. These standards ensures that the cemetery is a safe place for all to enjoy who come and visit. General maintenance of our grounds includes regular mowing and trimming, filling holes, tree care and leaf and snow removal of the roads.
