The Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is one of the most magical spots to visit in Westchester county. The amount of history within the grounds is astonishing. The cemetery grounds always look immaculent due to the excellent staff and groundskeepers. The guided lantern tours are NOT to miss. It's an experience you can't find anywhere else in New York. Do yourselves a favor and make time on your next trip to stop and explore this beautiful and historic garden cemetery.

What a treasure trove of American history . We missed the guided tour, but were able to use a map of the grounds and Google to piece together a sense of the depth of the cemetery’s place in the lexicon of American history. The names of those interned here are a veritable who’s who of people you know you’ve read about in history books. I would highly recommend a tour; I’ve heard they are fantastic.

An American treasure to say the least! This entire area (Nyack, Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow) just oozes the magic of antiquated Americana. Viewing these grave sites puts such a perspective on historical context that one is compelled to stroll through this old hollowed ground, especially during Halloween!

Gorgeous place for a nice quiet walk in nature and to see vivid faliage in late October/early November.
