It took 30 minutes just to get our order taken and the place was not packed at all. They overdid my steak. I asked for medium rare and it was more like well done. They also did not bring out our appetizer that we ordered. This place used to be good but has gone downhill in the recent years.

I came in for lunch on a Monday and found it was surprisingly busy, a good sign for me. My server stopped by quickly and took my drink order, made a great suggestion for one of their beers which I took. Glad I did because it was execellent. I tried the siracha burger with a garden salad; the salad was fresh and came quickly after ordering. The burger was FANTASTIC. My server was also wonderful; I will be moving to CR soon and I know I'll be back here. They also sell six packs of their beer which was a nice touch. Excellent place with good brew, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

The rockyard has been a staple in castle rock for years now, and it has had its ups and downs. My most recent visit gave a scaled down menu that was solid. The meatloaf was amazing, and their new line up of beers were all very good to great. I'm glad to see this shift in quality and I hope they keep it up.

Tried to have lunch and a beer there today. Was told there was a 15-20 minute wait. 3 adults and 2 kids. They sat 3 groups of 4 adults who came in after us. We were still waiting. There were two empty tables next to each other in the bar area when we came in that could have been put together. I thought maybe they were short servers but no they sat one of the groups of 4 there as we continued to wait. Had young kids running the front. Not what you would call swamped but just poorly managed. Way too many choices to deal with that. Won’t even try to go back.

The food was very good, but not amazing. The price and quality favored the quality, which means it was better and there was more food than I expected for the price. The reason I dropped a star is because the hostess seating was terrible. We got seated in the worst possible table, right in the middle of the floor by the bar. Then when we moved, got seated in the worst possible seat in the dining area; first table as you walk in. The dining access was not full at all either. Service was ok, which is also why I gave it 4 stars.
