I was going to give this place 1-star, but I added an extra star because the concierge lady accommodated my request to switch from a disgusting smoke-permeated dwelling, to a slightly better room in the non-smoking wing of the hotel. It seems there's no quality control and consistency between the smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms. The room I was initially given felt like a completely different hotel. I recommend locking your cars and bringing your valuables inside your room because there was a murder near the Carl's Jr. across the street the night before. Lightning usually doesn't strike twice in the same place, but it never hurts to be aware of such an incident, which by no means is a reflection of the hotel's operation.

Clean rooms, the owners are very nice and are constantly improving the place, safe and some covered parking. Just a comfortable hotel with no bells and whistles. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance, pool and spa.

I'll start with the good. The place was very cheap $50 for a king bed. It's location was awesome for food. It was steps away from a Carl's Junior and a Wendy's. It also had lots of food places surrounding. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the Barnes and Nobel around the corner too. I loved that the rooms all come with a mini fridge and microwave. There were some serious downsides though too. We saw a cockroach in our room. We killed it and then it was attacked by tons of tiny ants. We asked for a nonsmoking room and even though the sign said no smoking outside of it, the room smelled terribly of smoke. Even our comforter had what looked like tiny burn holes from a cigarettes. The hot tub water had an unsettling greenish tinge. Finally, the shower curtain was so poorly designed that I couldn't keep it on while I showered. You can't beat the price, but you get what you pay for. Continental breakfast was small but standard.

If I could give a negative star I would rate the Roadway Inn & Suites a negative (-)5. The customer service personal was rude, aggressive and abusive. This hotel is unprofessional, extorts money and deserving of a discrimination lawsuit at the very least. We ended up in a room with a jacuzzi when we would have preferred a shower, so ask what kind of room you are getting especially if you are traveling in a family group because, there was NO way to close the bathroom. It opened right into the room. Otherwise, the room was clean, quiet, and staff seemed helpful.
