In 1989, Wayne C. Roland Jr. began his then home-based business founded on a goal to provide honest, fair, and quality workmanship to his customers. We spent a long time looking for a slate roofer. Luckily, we found Roland Slate. They take such good care of our Vermont slate roof, respond to emergencies quickly and professionally, and comparably are reasonably priced. I love my roof and I trust only Roland Slate with it.

Ray Poellot, sales manager, never used gimmicks or trickery (as did a few other companies) to convince me to purchase from Roland Slate. He also offered alternative products of similar quality that were cheaper compared to other companies. I am very happy with the new roof and aluminum wrap (to cover wood trim) on my 80 year old original slate roof home that never had a full roof replacement. Work performed was high quality.

I only gave this company one star because zero or negative stars were not an option. I hired Roland Slate Co. to repair a leak on my roof. After 4 different repairs to my roof I still have the same leak in the same exact location. During one visit their foreman suggested that I file a false insurance claim for a leaking pipe in my roof. The owner Wayne claims to have come out and stated that the leak was coming from a tree growing in my chimney. His workers came out and put a cap on my chimney. There is no top to this cap and I can still see the tree sticking out. They left broken pieces of slate and nails all over my yard. I had to hire another company to repair my roof correctly and refuse to pay Roland for work which was not completed correctly.

Wonderful, professional work. Used technology to take pictures of my roof and explained all reasoning behind repairs that were needed. Coordinated work and communication good.
