This was a terrible experience. I called them at 7:30am to see if they could come to my home and replace a cold water shutoff valve (compression, no sweating in involved). This would have been a 10 minute job. First, they did not arrive until about 8:30PM, after calling several times telling us they would be late. When they arrived we were surprised to see 2 guys. One appeared to be a supervisor. He demanded the dog be secured before they could do any work. This guy was very rude during the time they were at our home. The other guy looked under the sink and said yes, he had the part on the truck and the cost would be $270 for parts and labor!!! I know my jaw dropped. I repeated back to him...$270 to replace the shutoff valve? He said yes. At that point I said nope, not tonight. Then Mr. Rude swiftly said let's go. I confronted him telling him how rude he had been since arriving, and he wanted to argue. I have his name, but will not publicize it here. I called their office and complained. I received a call back from a young lady apologizing for the rudeness, but telling me that $270 was their set price. I explained that is was a shutoff valve fitted on the cold water pipe with a compression fitting. No soldering was necessary. She maintained that the quoted price is what they charge. I would NOT recommend these guys for anything other than cleaning out a sewer line. The price they wanted to do this simple job was absolutely ridiculous. I changed out the valve in exactly 15 minutes. Part was $8.50 at Home Depot.
