One of my favorite places to stay. Very old and Historic. You have to appreciate that to enjoy it. Great restaurant too when it's open

I agree with another reviewer that said the apps were good, but the entrees overpriced for the quality. My husband had the chicken over rigatoni ($29) which was good, but my seafood risotto ($38) left much to be desired. For that price, I should have received plump, whole shrimp and whole scallops instead of the small, chopped up pieces and minced lobster meat. The texture of the risotto itself was not the creamy concoction I was anticipating, either. The $50 Groupon took the sting out a bit, but paying $37 for it only saved us $13. I must mention, however, that both the hostess and the server were very nice.

I have been to The Mansion a number of times for dinner and always had a wonderful experience. The festive atmosphere and beautiful, historic mansion are the perfect backdrop to the incredible food. I have eaten dinner there as part of a small party as well as in large groups; each time uniquely fabulous. My personal dinner favorites are tuna with avocado mousse as well as the halibut. I recently had Easter lunch at The Mansion and had an equally positive experience. We started with mimosas in the lounge off of the bar, sharing the calamari appetizer which was light and delicious. We then continued to the table having multiple small plates, including the kale Caesar, pastrami egg rolls and smashing toasts. We had excellent service and loved every bite. The atmosphere was warm and charming for a holiday lunch. I can't wait to go back.

I reserved a table because there was a Christmas sing-along and I know the entertainer. The performance and sing-along were excellent! Some poor planning and poor communication made the dining experience less than optimal. A prix fix menu priced above what I would call moderate range was the only option. An entree was removed right before we could order. When we did order, 3 people selected chicken parmesan. We were served herb-coated chicken pieces with bones, over rice. When I told the server that we had ordered chicken parmesan, she said it had been replaced with balsamic chicken. The switch wasn't communicated until the plates were being served. I would have rather had the server, after turning in the order and learning of the swap, returned to the table to tell us and ask if we wanted one of the other entrees. The balsamic chicken wasn't bad, but when you set up your taste buds for chicken parmesan, balsamic chicken is quite a surprise! No offer of compensation was made, either. Service was also a bit slow, as if they hadn't anticipated the number of patrons even though most had made reservations. Instead of putting a damper on the evening with complaints, I paid my check and left. The next day I wrote a detailed message via the Facebook page of the restaurant. I got a response that it "wasn't their best night" and to "give them another chance" and ask for a specific person when I return, but no specific offer was made, such as a meal comp or free dessert, etc. I'll only go back to support my friend if he performs there again. The entertainment, and a previous brunch experience when the food and service were much higher quality, are the reasons I went with 3 stars instead of fewer.

Poor service, bad attitude from the waiter. No real tea, only coffee available was decaf, blamed on the supplier " not delivering". No real tea, just a few teabags of flavored teas. Food saved the day, but will need convincing to come back.
