If you have natural 4b-4c hair you may want to steer clear of this place! I spoke with stylist Monica, and decided to go in for a blowout. Before she started my hair I expressed concern about heat damage because I'd never had the "dominican blowout" before but knew people who have with no problems with heat damage. She said no worries just wash my hair and it would curl back to my natural curl. She washed, deep conditioned, and did a hot oil treatment to my hair, then began the detangling and blowout process. Once she finished my hair appeared perfect but did have a smell to it, so I kept it in for a few weeks to my surprise. Since my mother had also went to the salon and Monica did her hair, she washed her blowout out first and told me it wasn't reverting back, so panicked I washed and steamed my hair SAME THING, NO CURL! I called Monica and went back to the salon for her to say after a couple of washes my hair would curl.....of course it didn't and hasn't it's been a couple of months and my 5 years of growing my hair natural is FULLY heat damaged, nothing will curl except the little new growth I have now. Plus my hair breaks ALOT dry or wet. So be warned if you want someone who knows how to properly handle and care for maintaining healthy natural hair don't go here!
