Story

Private, member owned tennis club with a full service pro shop open to the public.

Tucked away in a beautiful five-acre terraced hillside, the San Dieguito Tennis Club provides a warm community atmosphere with nine courts, a large clubhouse facility, pro shop, pickleball court, ample parking, and a heated swimming pool.

Our members are truly. of all ages and abilities. Our club's welcoming host or hostess will make every effort to get you introduced to players of a comparable level. There are numerous round robins, potlucks, tournaments and social events every week. Junior Tournaments, USTA and League play of all skills levels is also organized. Lessons and group clinics are taught by our six pros.

Expert racquet stringing and ball machine rental are available, as well as accessories, logo apparel, tennis balls, snacks, and demo racquets. Lessons and clinics are offered for all ages and available to the public. Family memberships are offered.

With member volunteers giving their time and talents to accomplish a large part of what it takes to keep the club operating, we truly value all our members and have their best interests in mind. We hope you consider joining us, pick up your racquet and come stay a while!

History
Established in 1965.

Perched on a series of small mesas and terraced between fields of sandstone outcroppings is one of the best-kept secrets in Encinitas, California.

Founded in 1966 by a group of local tennis families who wanted a place to play tennis. They were tired of the hassles with public courts and not interested in the steep membership costs of country clubs. The San Dieguito Tennis Club has developed from a single-court facility to nine acrylic-surfaced concrete courts, a pro shop, 40 ft. swimming pool, concrete backboard, two levels of parking and a clubhouse. Seven of the nine courts are lighted for night play. San Dieguito is home to some serious tennis players. Every two or three years, the club managed to finance and build a court or two, but it took 13 years to get around to constructing a clubhouse.
