This place is awesome the staff is super friendly and very experienced I also had 2 fish that bullied every other one and they took them and even gave me some store credit for them and told me my tank was out of wack and told me how to fix it and didn't even try to sell me products just happy to help people and the fish selection is amazing I'm a freshwater person and I couldn't belive how many different species they had there I've had a tank for while now and they also sold me my favorite dinosaur eels I would definitely recommend this place to everybody

Awesome selection of saltwater sea life.  Extensive coral and plant selection.  Loved the infinity edged aquariums.

Great customer service and great pricing. We were planning on just checking the place out but ended up buying a new tank along with fish and coral for our current setup. I don't mind driving an hour to come here. It's worth it!

I have been dealing with Sea Escapes for about twenty years. They were located in Elgin in the strip mall that now houses Hobby Lobby and Target. I used to buy Water Dogs, Moon Crabs and my beloved Indonesian Pond Turtle from them. They had things that you never saw before and could find no where else. Their selection and knowledge enriched the education of my children like no other "store" could. They were a destination and an experience. I followed them to South Elgin and continue to get my aquarium supplies to this day. I would love a salt water aquarium but they educated me in that aspect of the hobby and made me realize that it was not something that I could adequately maintain. That kind of honesty is rare and I appreciate it. They help me keep my Malawian Cichlid tank looking great!

We purchase our koi and fresh water aquarium fish here. Support your local business, they are extremely knowledgeable and will help you from killing your fish. Otherwise you can buy cheap fish at petco, and more fish at petco
