I purchased a dress for my 8 year old for Daddy Daughter dance and the employee did not take off ink security tag.  I didn't notice til I out the dress on my daughter 5 minutes before we walked out the door to go to dance.  I called Sears to see if it's removable at home because I am over 30 minutes away.  They kept me on hold for 15 minutes. Then I asked for mgr,they had me waiting another 5 minutes. The manager gets on and says I need to come in. The dance had already started by then. I told her you guys dropped the ball on this one. And she acted very unprofessional and Hung Up on me!

Unfortunately Sears seems to be becoming more and more irrelevant as time goes buy.  The store is usually nice and has a good selection of everything from craftsmen tools to clothing but never seems busy or vibrant.

I bought a battery from Sears just over two years ago. The battery has died. It is within the stated warranty period. Sears won't replace it because I don't have a receipt. Who the hell keeps a receipt for that long? They won't do a damn thing for me.

Edit: The main Sears FB page dug up my receipt from information in my credit card statement and sent it to me as a PDF. I was going to move them from one to four stars because of that.

However, they go back down to three because the first visit with my receipt, the auto center was closed and the people in the main store (where I actually bought it from) had no idea how to process the warranty exchange. The second visit with receipt did yield a new battery... after 1 hour and 24 minutes of re-testing the already tested battery and finding someone that had any idea how to do the warranty exchange. I'm not even sure if what they finally did was the correct way, but it allowed me to leave with a new battery, so I'm not complaining too much.

No employees anywhere, spent more time looking for an employee to pay then I did shopping. I can see why they are doing terrible.

Updated Oct. 2016. Worse Store ever. Horrible customer service. Messed up rewards and points system. So complicated, the associates or managers don't even know how it works. Even when they sell damaged goods. Had given this store 4star before, but after 3 bad experiences... This can't be random bad experience.
