This is the best personal training experience I have ever had, not just in Charleston, but anywhere. My friend and I signed up to train together, and our trainer, Reily, has been outstanding and an absolute pleasure to train with! He has new workouts every time and is very creative, ensuring we do not get bored with "routine." The facility itself is nice too, simple and free of unnecessary equipment that no one uses. The price is fair for what you get, as well. We signed up for another package because of how impressive it has been. I would highly recommend trying it, you will absolutely see and feel a difference! Request Reily, he's fantastic!!!!

Amazing fitness studio with an Amazing staff! If you are fully committed to a healthy lifestyle in regards to fitness and nutrition, this is the place you want to be. I worked with Drew and I couldn't have asked for a better fitness professional.

There are many investments a person can make in their lifetime. The best investment I have ever chosen was to work out with a personal trainer. I was truly fortunate to find Joe McDevitt at Shaping Concepts. Joe is an extremely knowledgeable trainer. As a medical professional myself, I appreciate the value of his education. He holds a BS in Athletic Training/Exercise Science and an MS in Sports Medicine. His education, along with Joe’s experience, have played an important part in my rehabilitative and strength training. Before we started training together, Joe completed a full assessment to understand my physical limitations as a result of injuries and consistently develops a personalized plan for me to work around these. He continually reassess my well-being and progress as he adds new exercises to the plan. Joe is conscientious and a true motivator, with the added bonus of being a fun guy!! I have made incredible progress over the 3 years I have been working with him. He helped me recover from a bad accident and now I am stronger and in the best physical shape ever!! Working out with Joe’s guidance has been invaluable. My mental well-being has benefited as well. I have even inspired others to start some type of workout plan. Thank you Joe for your knowledge, inspiration…..and all the compliments I receive for looking so fit!! You ROCK!

Without a doubt the best thing I have ever done for myself is to join Shaping Concepts and train under Joe McDevitt. After training with Joe for two years, I have maintained the positive changes that he helped me achieve in both my physical shape and my state of mind. He tailored my work outs to the areas I was most concerned about and helped me see how I needed to strengthen other areas. Joe has an amazing ability to keep me motivated and hold me accountable. Everyone at Shaping Concepts is professional and the environment is fun and friendly. I look forward to coming for the sessions and have fun while working out. Now, I can’t imagine not having these training sessions in my life! For me this one change in my life helped me reach a happier and healthier state of mind and physical well-being. Joe McDevitt, you are the greatest and I can’t thank you enough!

My wife and I really appreciated working out at a smaller, dedicated training gym for several years. Joe McDevitt trained us both, individually. He was extremely professional and focused during our sessions. I would say he's as much a movement/form coach as he is a motivator. We were able to overcome knee and hip mobility issues building strength and flexibility in those areas. Joe was always prepared for us, with individual workout plans for each workout. The staff are friendly, the equipment is good. We were able to learn what to do, how to move, and what to focus on during our workouts. Joe is intuitive and very well educated and uses those skills/abilities to provide top-tier care and service to his clients. Having experience with other gyms and trainers, there is simply no comparison we can make to other gyms vs Shaping Concepts, and in particular, Joe McDevitt. We highly recommend both.
