So disappointing.

I used to believe that Sid Dillon was different to all other area dealerships.  Either I was wrong or something has changed in the past two years.  I've bought five new cars from Sid Dillon in the past eight years; this time, the sales process included three separate instances of the same kind of tactics and mind games that you can expect from the car sales industry in general.  There isn't enough space here for me to express my disappointment with that process, but maybe they've just had me snowed all along.  It's tempting to believe that we have found the right people to talk to - the best in the business; the ones who will always treat you fairly and openly.  So maybe I've just been gullible.

Nor do I blame my salesman at all - it probably wasn't his fault.  You can't hold him responsible for this review.  He wasn't saying or doing anything that didn't come from the sales manager.  This stuff was all symptomatic of a larger problem; a dealership- level problem or maybe more of an industry-level problem.  Or, depending on your perspective, maybe not a problem, but business as usual.  Suffice to say that's not my particular perspective.

If I'd wanted to be treated like a 'mark' or some kind of a lost lamb, there are two Chevy dealerships here in Lincoln who would have been happy to do that for me.

On the other hand, once the money was all sorted out and I had negotiated a reasonably fair deal, the rest of the process was smooth and I was treated very well.
