Went up to mud around after a snow, it didn't disappoint. I recommend the power line path.

Everything you want in primitive camping, rarely packed besides July 4th or memorial day. There are restrooms/out house style. Trash areas so you dont have to take it back with you. There is a $10 a night fee which is outstanding for the experience you get and the maintenance the state puts into it. I've had Game wardens come up to the campsite many times (across 3 years of active camping) they usually strike a casual conversation and compliment my tent setup, friendly for the most part there have been a couple I didn't care to pay to encounter but overall they've been more help and informal than anything. Great family get away and of course if you're here for just camping you must respect this is a large area for hunting and fishing, which are both great things to do here. Never run into a wild bunch of partiers or music too loud, usually camp neighbors say hello introduce themselves and its always been a pleasant experience.

Just got back from a quick overnight trip since this is literally in our backyard and unfortunately it was one of the most disgusting and odd camping experiences we have ever had. We have been before and the area is beautiful, but the Campground has gone downhill! The bathrooms were abysmal..feces everywhere, toilet paper littering the ground, just absolutely trashed. People have taken to using the bathroom in the woods, leaving fecal toilet paper in campsites and blowing through the woods. There was trash EVERYWHERE. Beer bottles, fishing hooks, just signs of lazy people. Strange people driving up and down the road all night that were not campers, pulling over on the side and sitting in their vehicles before driving off again. Definitely a coyote problem. Just a terrible experience.

It's a State Park, so it does not have all the Bells and Whistles like private places... but you can go out on the lake and enjoy solitude, piece and quite.. I could here owls far off. Just beautiful! The road can be rough at times and after it rains( it's gravel/dirt road)
