Ribs and candied bacon is amazing here. Better parking at this location than the 3rd ward location. Great food and service at both locations. Be sure to get here early so you can get the meats you want. When they run out of meat they are done period. They only smoke enough meat based upon what their normal demand is.

Got a full rack of dry flavorless ribs. I asked about the tub and the waitress said they use a LITTLE BBQ rub before the smoking process. Seems that they rely on table sauces to give the ribs flavor. This is the opposite of what you should do with ribs. Butter for the sweet potato was very hard. Environment was nice

Went here for a friends birthday on a Friday night about 7pm. The server was great but service was on the slow side. I know most of the time this is due to the kitchen or bar being slow, and we were not in a hurry. The restaurant was out of ribs when we got there, which surprised me that early on a Friday. That's was fine as I am a brisket person anyway. When my meal came, the food was room temperature, a problem my server quickly corrected without missing a beat. The 2nd plate was warm, not hot, but still a good temperature to eat. The brisket and pork were both dry and flavorless. The sauces were not anything I though complimented the meat in any way. The side of mac and cheese however was AMAZING! The food was so bad I would never return. Compared to REAL BBQ joints like Iron Grate and Atlas.. this food is almost not worth even eating much less paying for. I would recommend you go elsewhere.

Excellent food and BBQ sauces. Moderately priced. An adequate selection of beer and craft beers. Service was at best average. I personally do not want my check until I finish my meal. Getting the check well before I finish eating is unacceptable. Then I don't want to ask ask the hostess to track down the server to pay the bill. When I order a meal to share, I don't want to have to ask for an extra plate and carving knife. Overall the experience was C-.

I was really looking forward to trying The Smoke Shack. It was just okay. Meat was cold. Drink prices are outrageous! $9.00 for almost a half glass of wine. $8.50 for a small Bloody Mary no chaser! In Milwaukee no chaser? That’s unheard of. The nachos were not very good either. Asked for the sour cream on the side but it was drizzled all over them. With that they were still dry. Just not worth the money in our opinion.
