“I wanted a restaurant where the diners feel like they are dining at my home.” This is the foundation for Smokin’ Jim’s House of Bar-B-Q. Owner, Smokin’ Jim, has spent several years perfecting his smoking craft in order to bring you the best barbeque in Auburndale area, if not all of Florida. Smokin’ Jim can’t wait to serve you some of his award winning barbeque right here at Smokin’ Jim’s House of Bar-B-Q.

While many have been known to travel several miles just to get a taste of our fall of the bone ribs, award winning shredded pork, melt in your mouth beef brisket, smoked turkey, and of course our infamous steak nights, we offer some of the best catering services around. I really enjoy brisket so we decided to try this place on a friend's recommendation. I guess if you enjoy vinegar based barbecue you might enjoy it; unfortunately I do not.  My wife got the pork ribs and I tried them and they were very good. The potato salad and baked beans were pretty good too. The girl who waited on us was not very adept at her job. Other tables were seated after us by another server, got their food faster and they were done and gone before us. We weren't necessarily in a hurry, but we shouldn't have to flag her down in order to get condiments and refills. We'll try again and see if the service is better and I will try something else from the menu. If it's any consolation, my wife really enjoyed her dinner.

Don't expect anything fancy.  Styrofoam plates, plastic utensils, tons of paper towels, no table cloths or place settings, but the best melt-in your mouth ribs ever.  Baked beans has pulled pork cooked into it.  Cole slaw is cold and tasty.

I personally do not like the interior dining area, feels like an old cafe, just not very welcoming and comfortable. The food on the other hand is incredible. I don't eat much bbq but the pulled pork here is incredible. specially with the mild sauce. I believe the mild sauce here is worthy of a gold medal.

We gave them a second chance.  Had lunch.  It was great service and great food.   Just shows the waitress really makes the difference.  Hopefully it's like that the next time.  Our previous experience was poor service and overdone food.  That was an evening meal.

Love the food and the staff is always friendly and helpful. And we go their enough whether we eat in and the waitress knows us and what we eat unless we switch it up, she always knows our drink order. Or if we take out the window person knows us. Jim is very friendly and always around if you need help.
