I was a member of Soapy Joe's for about two years and was happy enough to continue to pay my monthly fees until the car wash snapped my back wiper off my car.  I contacted customer service and after inquiring about the details of the incident, I was told "After further investigation, Soapy Joe’s has determined we are not liable for any damages that occurred to your vehicle and your claim has been denied. After reviewing our camera footage of your vehicle entering and exiting the tunnel, we found out attendant taped your down your wiper and it was entact once exiting the tunnel. Soapy Joe’s is not liable for any vehicle that leave the premises before a full investigation is done on the vehicle. I do apologize for any inconvenience."

This taping practice had started months after I initially joined, which told me that there had been other similar complaints about back wiper breaking - otherwise why did they start taping?  

I do not do crazy things with my car, and let's be honest, we live in San Diego - I do not often use my back wiper.  What is so strange to me is that my wiper just SNAPPED OFF by itself immediately after I had exited the car wash on a sunny, San Diego morning.  

My household has two Soapy Joe's memberships and we canceled them both.  From Soapy Joe's perspective, our future membership fees would definitely have paid for the cost of a new wiper plus much more.  

As far as the wash itself goes - it's okay, there are definitely still dirt streaks and water marks when it's done.  If you go once a week on your membership it's worth it (until they damage your car and deny it), but if you just pay a one-time usage fee - I'd go somewhere else.

Great place to clean your car. Only $15/month and you clean it as often as you like. Run it through their wash then park and use their vacuum system and supplied cleaning/drying rags. There can be a line at busy times, but come before lunch and it's no problem.

It's alright. I found that it didn't do a good good job on the roof. The largest flat area of most vehicles. Staff was friendly and courteous. Overall I think the price is higher than the quality of this self service automatic car washing establishment. They do provide towels for drying off your car and vacuums. On weekends the place can be quite busy but the wait isn't overly long. Conveniently located on Oceanside Boulevard about a mile west of Interstate 5.

I like this car wash but the wash itself was not good. I still had strips of parts that the wash did not touch oddly. But it’s cool that they have vacuums and towels for you to finish off your car wash. Come after sunset and get a discount. The air freshener smells delicious. Very convenient and busy.

#fail due to being too successful.
Soapy Joe's is a good concept, but they can't seem to manage the drying/vacuuming area making it a huge mess to park and dry/vacuum your car. I'll be contacting my credits care company and contesting charges.
