I got there about 9:30 AM this morning (Tuesday).  There was no line for security, both security guards were very pleasant.  I waited about an hour for my number to be called...the waiting area looked a lot worse, but there were a lot of families.  I read the reviews before mine and they were very helpful.  I went in the back door, left my bag and whatever I didn't need in the car and had my paperwork filled out in advance.  Other than the expected wait time, it was pretty painless. I should get my new card (married/name change) in 1-2 weeks!

Went on a Monday. Got there at 8:40 to wait in line. Walked out at 9:15 with the receipt for my new social security card. Very satisfied with how quickly it went.

After checking in, I waited about 50 minutes for my number to be called. I already had paperwork filled out before hand and my ID ready, so it only took the guy 5 minutes to do my paperwork for a replacement card. No one was rude or abbrasive besides the other people waiting.

I agree with some of the other reviews for this office. Bottom line: if you come early and are prepared, it's pretty painless. I arrived at about 8:20 on a Thursday morning and was the 15th person in line. The line was outside, so dress appropriately. We waited until about 8:50, when security opened the door and started screening people. Many were prepared with only their jackets and a folder or small packet of info they needed for their business at the office, so it went fast. Once I was inside and through security, I went to the kiosk to get my number in line. Sat down to wait, and my number was called by about 9:10. I met with an employee at a window, handed him my appropriate form (completed before I arrived) along with the requested ID and waited while he entered data into the computer system. He printed out the info for me to approve. There was something needing edits, so he made the change quickly, printed out the new copy and I approved it. The employee was all business, but not rude as others have mentioned. I was there less than an hour all said and done, walking out the front doors by 9:15am.

If you are prepared like you should be. There should be no problems at all. Documents should be filled out and any other proof of identity that you need, bring it. I only needed to show my original marriage license and social security card. I arrived early at 8:40am. Waited outside for 15 minutes with about 20 people ahead of me. They opened at 8:55am. I waited for my number to be called. Met with the person to process my name change for my new social security card within 10minutes. It took him 2 minute to do everything. I was out by 9:25am.  If you plan on coming later during the day. Expect to stay there longer. Overall experience was very pleasant.
