I thought I knew what I wanted, however, walking into Solomon Brothers proved me wrong. Lisa was able to get me the exact ring and diamond my fiance wanted for WAY less than I was looking at spending elsewhere. They truely have the best prices around and superb diamonds. Can't recommend them enough. Also, go see Lisa when you visit, she is the best!

My experience at Solomon Brothers started out alright, but ended pretty terribly with a ruined surprise.

I was recommended there by a friend whose husband purchased her engagement ring there a few years ago. One day over the summer, my friend was going to get her ring cleaned, so I tagged along for fun, and to figure out what size ring I wore. My boyfriend and I had talked about getting married, but it was early so I figured I would at least know my size in case it came up. We walked in, my friend and I were greeted nicely, she dropped off her rings for cleaning (which would take about 15 minutes), and I decided to try on rings while we waited. We were paired with Lisa, who was relatively helpful, but slightly pushy. She helped me size my finger, but then was set on having me figure out EXACTLY which setting I was interested in. I played along, but really was just there for the ring size, so I didn't think much about giving her my information (name, email, phone, etc.). Although I was hesitant, I also gave her my boyfriends information when she asked. We even joke about how awkward it would be for him to find out that I was ring shopping. Lisa followed up later that day with an email, saying that she had noted my preferences, and that when my boyfriend was ready, I should send her information to him so she could help him pick the perfect ring.

A few months went by, and as my boyfriend and I got more serious, I forwarded the email to him. I said something along the lines of "I'm just going to send this now, but no pressure or rush- just want you to have it for whenever you're ready".

Flash forward a month or two, I had kind of put it out of my mind until one day I was sitting at work and I GOT AN EMAILED INVOICE FOR MY FUTURE ENGAGEMENT RING. Totally out of the blue, I got an email to my email address from Lisa, directed at my boyfriend, that had wiring instructions, the invoice, and the appraisal. All the specifics about the ring were listed right there in front of me. I was so angry that Lisa had ruined the surprise. I replied back, telling her that I would pretend I didn't see it, and to please send the email to my boyfriend. I had to keep this huge secret from him for about two weeks, because I still wanted him to have his special proposal moment. She had already taken the surprise away from me, but I didn't want to ruin it for my boyfriend. Get this: She never responded to apologize for sending me the invoice!

Literally, when you are selling an engagement ring, you really have one major job - NOT to tell the future bride about it!! After he proposed and we let the excitement sink in, I told him about the email that I had gotten. He was FURIOUS.

Now about 10 days after he proposed, I got ANOTHER email from Lisa, to my email address, asking for a Google review - so here it is.

I would absolutely caution anyone buying an engagement ring to look elsewhere, or at least stay away from Lisa. What happened to us shouldn't happen at a "Fine Jeweler".

I called the store a few weeks ago letting one of the sales associates know that my fiancé and I are looking to come in from Canada to purchase a stone. We spoke to Ellen who was extremely warm,  friendly and knowledgeable! 

We found a few stones on Solomon’s diamond inventory online and when asked if she could bring them into the store, it wasn’t a problem at all. However, each stone we were interested in was either unavailable or couldn’t be located in their system when looked up with the item #. 

I haven’t called back since but we are still considering buying our diamond ring from Solomon Brothers because the prices are  reasonable (thousands of dollars cheaper especially when looking at buying a larger stone).

I would give them a 5/5 for their customer service and competitive pricing. I’m not sure if all of the stones on their inventory are available though. This makes it tough when you are looking for a specific type of diamond.

My experience at Solomon Brothers was nothing short of amazing.  Katlin made the entire experience stress free and seamless.  I already had an idea of what I wanted to pick out for my fiancée to be when I got there, and the process of choosing the diamond and the setting I wanted was exhilarating and something I will never forget.  The time and effort to make the perfect ring for the perfect woman was solidified when she said “yes!”, and I became the luckiest man in the world. Thank you again for helping me start my journey with my future bride.
