I love the owner, she’s so nice and friendly. Other vegan places should take note of how she runs her business. Of course the food is delicious and AMAZING. But the owner just makes you want to come back even more often because of her warm personality! The southern fried tofu is to die for along with their mac n cheese, but honestly everything on the menu is SO good!! This a place you rave about consistently and you want to bring your friends and family here always!

5/18/18 Our first visit to Souley Vegan last night. We ordered the sample platter for $30, the Black bean and quinoa burger plus sweet potato fries. The burger was very tasty, I had mine on a bun instead of the lettuce wrap. Very tasty! The sweet potato fries were also very tasty too though a little soft. The sample platter with the extra items was huge, enough for two people with leftovers to take home! Definitely the best for our first time to try a little bit of everything The potato salad was delicious! The fried Okra with the tasty coating was addictive! Looking forward to our next visit to try more items from the menu!

Quality has really gone down since they've become even more popular than before. I've been going there for nearly three years, and over the past year I keep having to tell myself to give them another try. Sadly after this last experience I think I will just give up on them. The food USED to be some of the very best vegan food around (which is to say nothing of the fact it's soul food too). These days though, it's obvious they make bulk food in the AM and serve it throughout the day. The past half dozen times I've been there so far this year, my experience has been the same. The food is obviously not cooked to order and is served cold or lukewarm at best. Sometimes I've wondered if it is DAY OLD food. Sorry but for the price and quality you're better off trying many of other vegan options available in Oakland. However, If you do enjoy cold day old food, this is the place for you!

Disclaimer, I am not vegan or vegetarian. However, I am southern and know a good soul food bite when it crosses my "soup coolers"(lips). I picked this spot for lunch with a vegetarian friend that lives in Oakland. Since it was a first time for us both we went with the sampler plate and the monster salad. Each dish on the sampler was flavorful, but as a carnivore I simply can not get past the spongy texture of tofu. My least favorite was the barbeque tofu because I also didn't care for the sauce. The collards, black eye peas, and potato salad were on point! Would I drive 45min. again for this bite? Only for good company or a nearby event. Overall, I enjoyed the flavors and I am thankful for the healthy food option for whenever I am in the area👍✊

My wife and I were looking for a vegan place to eat and came upon this place and it's one of the best places we've eaten at(vegan or non vegan)!! We liked the vibe and the history pictures on the wall. Great music and great food!! Will definitely be back!!!!
