o Refer our members when responding to the hundreds of inquiries received weekly through email, Chamber website and telephone.

o Ladies Kingfish Tournament brings in over 250 anglers, along with their captains, boats and families during August.
o Host monthly Coffee and Conversations, through the Government Services Committee
o Organize and promote New Member Showcase which features business members.
o Organize and promote mixers and ribbon cuttings providing exposure and networking opportunities for business members.
o Organize and promote the recruitment of Leadership Laguna Madre.
o Produce weekly newsletters that spotlight business members, Chamber and community activities.
o Send emails sent during the year with information pertinent to the business community.
o Organize Junior Leadership Laguna Madre, a program for seniors at Port Isabel High School.
o Produce the 72-page full-color Guide to South Padre Island. 75,000 copies printed and distributed world-wide, along with being available on Chamber website in 3-D format.
o Maintain an award winning website that provides current information on our business members and valuable information to visitors.
o Offer quick access to relocation information for both business and residents.
o Monitor local, state and federal legislative issues and kept business members apprised of upcoming changes and issues that are both good and bad for our local business climate.
o Work with local school district to identify and develop curriculum to benefit local employers and students.
o Organize 11 All-Member Meetings to help business members stay informed on activities and happenings that affect their business.
o Organize 5 action committees created to provide our members with opportunities to work in an area of their expertise and have a say in the Chamber’s program of work.
o Organize 2 Shop the Island promotions annually to help promote shopping at Island businesses.
o Participate in South Padre Islands Recycle Days event.
o Produce and distribute 20,000 copies of Chamber Coupon Book to promote business from November through February.
o Partner with SPI-CVB to produce 40,000 copies of Island Coupon Book to promote business to people coming to Island for conventions/seminars/conferences.
o Coordinate and promote community blood drive.
o Organize annual Holiday Gala.
o Recognize committed community leaders at Annual Meeting.
o Host New Teacher Welcome Luncheon and coordinate development of welcome bags featuring items from area businesses.
o Host Teacher Appreciation Reception.
o Award scholarships to Port Isabel High School students.
o Promote community non-profit events
o Member of the TAB, RGV Partnership, and TCCE which allows us to stay apprised on tourism industry related practices and issues relevant to Island business
o Through sponsorship and membership your Chamber supports the activities of numerous local non-profit agencies throughout the year.
