I have been going to Dr. Cook for over 20 years. 

Dr. Cook has incredible attention to detail and will stop at nothing to give his patients the best treatment. He and his entire team, aside from being genuinely friendly and outgoing, uses state of the art equipment to make sure your dental care is comfortable and quality. 

Dr. Cook is a true craftsman in the industry.

I went to Dr Cook last April to have extensive work done on my teeth and had planned to have my bridge replaced by him. I have some anxiety regarding dentistry because I have very sensitive teeth, and I had kind of let things go. Dr Cook was absolutely incredible, taking great care to be sure that I was comfortable for all of the work. This would be a five star review if not for the business manager and their lack of transparency regarding pricing. 

I need to have a 20 year old bridge replaced and am inclined to go elsewhere because of this. The pricing I was given at the consultation for last year's work was $1350 per crown. I choked, but I needed the work done so I agreed. When the insurance company go ahold of it they reduced the costs to $890 per crown, saving me a grip of money. Fast forward to yesterday afternoon at 4:30pm. I need to have my old bridge replaced, which is five crowns. The cost is again $1350 per crown. I smile and say "well I will be paying the same as I did last time, right?" The answer was a flat no, the kind that comes with that "you're an idiot" smile. I'm not sure if I am just being unreasonable, but given that I will be paying more than half of the cost of this procedure after my insurance is done covering what they cover, I'd like to know in advance how much I will pay. Plus, I don't want my insurance company doing my negotiating for me. I think it is very reasonable to expect a fair price no matter what insurance I have.

I went to Southdale Family Dentistry because of a change in my insurance and I have always gotten my teeth routinely cleaned once every 6 months.
I went there to get them cleaned one day, and they told me I had a few cavities and they wanted to fill them right away. Thankfully, I didn't have time and had meetings to go to. None of my teeth were hurting and I had maybe had one or two cavities before, so I was pretty alarmed to hear that I had so many. However, I wasn't in any pain, and my insurance was pretty bad. So I didn't go back to get them fixed. 
My next teeth cleaning came up 6 months later and we had different insurance (again)! So I decided to go to Prairie Dental Group in Eden Prairie instead. They told me I had one cavity that I need to keep an eye on, but it wasn't worth filling yet. 
From the multiple cavity diagnosis I had at Southdale, when i actually only had one, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
They were very friendly and kind and the office was neat and welcoming but I truly wouldn't let anyone go there.

I have been a patient for a number of years at Southdale Family Dentistry. All of the staff is kind, caring and fun! They always make you feel very welcome. Dr. Cook has a very honest, patient centric, consultative approach. Looking elsewhere has NEVER crossed my mind.

Love this practice.  I used to dislike going to the dentist, but the staff here is phenomenal.  Chris the hygienist is awesome! Always a joy to talk to and really helps maintain a calm and relaxed environment.
