After our beloved vet passed away we didn't think we'd find such a  great place so soon. The whole staff at SouthPark is great,  they care, they understand, and they are like family. We have been with them from rescuing an older dog, adopting a puppy, losing a dog, and the events in between. They understand, and respect, the wishes, needs, and resources of all families.  They suggest what is necessary without throwing in things you don't need. We couldn't be happier.

These guys were really good about getting me in right away for an appointment ASAP for my kitty who was having breathing problems, and the staff was really nice. The reason I'm giving a 2 star review is because three weeks after I took my cat in to have her checked out, she died in the ER of an animal hospital.

The vet didn't do any blood tests or ultrasounds--I had suspected fluid in the chest cavity and was worried about that specifically, but he listened to her lungs and said that he couldn't hear any fluid in there, which was quite a relief to me. He suggested that she probably had asthma, and to try prednisone for a couple weeks. If it didn't improve within 2 weeks, take her back in and we can do some more tests. I also mentioned that I was worried about her ribs protruding more than normal, and I was told that some cats are born that way, and while it concerns owners, it isn't a problem.

Just as I was getting ready to make her a follow-up appointment, after a weekend of having family in town and the prednisone not working, my cat had an episode where she couldn't breathe, was foaming at the mouth, and she collapsed on the floor. I rushed her to the ER, where they removed 300ml of fluid from her chest cavity! That's nearly an entire soda can of fluid! I'm astonished that the vet couldn't hear the fluid in her chest cavity and wasn't worried about her rib placement--that kind of thing doesn't happen in just 3 weeks.

Unfortunately, after the fluid was removed at the ER, my cat went into cardiac arrest and there wasn't much else that could be done, and she passed away. I was devastated that I didn't push for the ultrasound when I had the chance--I don't know if it would have even changed the outcome, but I do share in some responsibility for that choice. All the same, I'm very surprised that pleural effusion wasn't looked at as a real possibility, and that even though the other staff indicated that her breathing issues could be an emergency and asked me to come in right away, the vet didn't see it that way.

We came there during very difficult time for us.   We were very touched how effective and supportive staff was. Dr. Mary Smith was very thoughtful, knowledgeable, caring and gently guided us  through difficult decisions we had to make.  Overall, very clean and well designed place. We are considering switching to this clinic regardless of bit longer drive for us. The Merkulovich family.

I love the vets here, they are knowledgeable and trustworthy. They don't suggest extra procedures to run up the bulk like many vets do, they truly care for your pet and your wallet.

I've trusted South Park with my animal friends' health for more than a decade.  They're knowledgeable, reasonably priced & all the vets here have fantastic tableside manners.
