Great location, with excellent personality. The people here are great, and friendly, from ownership, management, and the customers. Will be back, as long as I vacation in Bama.

This was my and my families fourth summer to stay at Southport Campground and it was and has always been the best vacation we take each year. We take at least two or three other camping trips to other areas each year so we have meet and seen all kinds of people and places and this again outranks them all. It is well shaded which means a lot during summer on the Gulf coast. It's located on the river and has a nice area to fish or sit in the sun or just hang out with a few friends and watch the boats going by. It has a bathhouse that is always clean! Outdoor pavilion and laundry facilities and nice lot spaces for RV's with a little room to sit and enjoy outside too! We love the location, just minutes from the beach or shopping or dinning!!! Best of all...we love the people! I would say it is Southern but I wouldn't want to stay anywhere that's not. Me being Southern myself, we were welcomed in on day one, everyone offers a helping hand if you ever need one, and everyone is full of respect for others and others property. We take bikes and fishing equipment and grills and outdoor chairs and throughout four years not one item has ever been bothered! That stuff doesn't happen at this campground! If you give respect then you get it...that's being "Southern". The atmosphere is family friendly and safe. These people have all become part of our extended family and I wouldn't dare think about visiting the Gulf Coast and NOT staying at Southport Campground. I'm already counting down until next year!!! Thanks again Southport Campground for another wonderful vacation!!!!!!

A "resident", someone LIVING in the campground got into my tent while I was gone & stole my bag of clothes!! I went door to door & many of the tenants there pointed me in the direction of one particular "resident" who just happened to be the woman working in the offices' son & girlfriend!! I did not receive any cooperation from the woman. I never got my things back!! I will NEVER camp there again & I highly recommend that anyone reading this look further for somewhere to stay!!!!

I stay here during the summer and the people and the lady that runs the place is so great I would suggest this place for anyone
