Story

One of my favorite places to go on the North Shore! Fantastic area for the photographer in the family. Huge parking lot, with areas for a picnic. Long trip down the stairs to the shore line......even longer going back up, but plenty of areas where you can stop for a breather and take even more pictures!

Beautiful beyond words. We went on a cold, crystal clear day and it was breathtaking. Wonderful welcome center, helpful staff, great gift shop, and clean restrooms. They also have a short video about the history of the lighthouse and why it was built. I can't wait to go back.

Informational movie is produced well and very educational. Grounds are beautiful to explore any time of year. Gift shop is robust. Ammenities are clean. Great for learning about the history of Minnesota.

By far one of the best destinations along the North Shore of Minnesota. If you're in the area, you need to stop by! The staff are knowledgeable and the guided tours are really interesting. You also have the option to explore on your own if you're not interested in a guided experience. If you have the time, and the weather is amicable, I highly recommend taking the hike down the trail to the shore. It's a relatively easy hike down, however, it would be tougher with a stroller or wheelchair. Prepare yourself for some moderate exertion. If you're able to wear your child in a carrier or 'Boba Wrap' style, you'll be better off. 10/10 Would go back in the Fall/Early Winter. If you dress warm enough, it's worth experiencing Lake Superior in October/November when the waves are high and the leaves are changing colors.
